Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

We got engaged in Nov 2004. I ALWAYS wanted a May or June wedding, but 2005 was too close for me. So we went to halls saying we wanted May or June 2006. The hall we chose, JT, had some dates in May and maybe 1 or 2 in June. We decided against May since some of our BP is still in college and would have finals then. And out of the June dates, June 17 just seemed right.

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

We decided we both love fall and we wanted either the last week of October or the first week of November..YAY! We wanted it to be FALL fall, not summer fall or winter fall. I am so happy with our date!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

I always wanted a fall wedding but DH NEEDED to have it in the summer so it would be easier for his family to come here from Greece (a big wopping 5 people made the trip BTW), The greek church won't hold wedding ceremonies from Aug 1-15 (I forget why) and one of my BMs was getting married at the end of Aug so after the 15th was too close...so we picked the last weekend in July 'cause it was summer, had no conflicts and gave us the longest possible engagement (which ended up to be 9.5 months) w/out waiting until '07...it worked out perfectly in the end

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

This goes along with how he proposed. I went to Australia for a month. When I got home, he just started talking about getting married. How many people to invite, how much it would cost etc. I want to say we figured out how much it would cost, but it was more like we decided how much we would spend, then we figured out how long it would take to save that amount of money. I wanted a Sunday before a Monday holiday, which gave us Columbus Day weekend as the earliest date we could have the money available. Se we pulled out the calendar and picked Oct 8, 2006.

About two hours later he said 'by the way, will you marry me?'

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

We wanted to get married in October. This was a little problem since my birthdy and my brother's bds are in October...and we really didn't want a halloween wedding. We we going to do end of Sept, but when the banquet manager told us that if we do the beginning of Nov, it would save us 17000....we booked the date!!!! Also, its been a godsend since our honeymoon and all of our vendors are a lot easier to book being 'off season'

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

-I dont like the cold and I was scared that my weddding would fall on the blizzard of '06, so Oct - Mar was out.
-Apr = Rainiy month Out (Ironic cause it rained the morning of my wedding after 3 weeks straight of beautiful weather)
-May - June: I hear were a little Pricier and my Bday is in may
-Sep. - I heard its most expensive month (out)
-July: gets really hot days (my sister's day was like a heat wave)

Left us with August, so I wanted end of Aug. - no logic just wanted too. I was et on 8/19 but Leonards had 8/26 available. Which worked out becuase I was able to use Labor Day weekend for extra days towards my HM. Alos we were told its an off season minth so Leonards was a little cheaper than I guess a sep., may., june

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

I always loved the idea of a fall wedding and we originally wanted Sept. 26 but when we went to the hall we found out it was cheaper if we pushed our date back to Oct. so we pushed it back 1 week to Oct. 3. All the other months I kind of figured the weather is too unpredictable and there is nothing like a fall sunset over the water and that's just what we'll get at CLM at 5:30 on Oct. 3, 2008!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

Well I knew that I wanted it in the spring - so we started looking for May and June then found out that April was cheaper - so went with the last weekend in april turns out that it is two days after our anniversary

We're getting married on May30 which is actually our 'anniversary' date now. On the day we get married it will be 7 years that we had been together.

The best part of the story is that it was April 1!! (although he insists it was March 31, but the 'by the way' part came after midnight). When we woke up in the morning I asked him if he was serious!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

We both wanted a late summer/fall wedding, so we looked from Aug-Oct. - we then started just looking at September, then when we found out labor day was not available at our RH, we learned of DHs parent's anniversary, and thought that would be the best date to choose and when we told the families, everyone was in tears of joy!

Re: How did you pick your wedding date?

This is how we decided:

FH received a kidney transplant about a year and a half ago. The prednisone (anti-rejection med) causes him to feel more hot than a normal person (tends to sweat). So, I knew I could not get married in a hot month and to me every other month other than June, July and August is cold. So, basically we decided at the end of September b/c it should HOPEFULLY be in the low 70's.

If FH did not have this problem, I would have wanted to get married at the end of June. But, I feel for him b/c of his health condition. The guy has been through a lot and he is only 32.

thanks! My parents share their wedding annivresary with my mom's parent's, and we thought it would be a living tribute to my in-laws to share it with them! They'll be at 35 next year while we celebrate #1!
