Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

i wanted a warm weather wedding, the summer is dead at my job, so i can probably take more time off. i originally wanted to do a sept or oct wedding but i forgot about tax extension deadlines so we wouldn't be able to go on a honeymoon so i had to rethink.

We wanted a wedding on the water and summer is the best time for that!

July 26th was right in the middle of the summer. So it will give me a month after school gets out and a month until we go back to school to go on HM and then recover from everything!

Wow, same thing hall twin and almost date twin!

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

I LOVE the winter & hate the summer so it was kind of a no brainer for us. Also one of my MOHs & BM & Flower girl are from upstate so i figured they have a whole week to get down (just incase it snows) for my wedding since it President's week & they are off from work & school.

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

well, we chose 4th of july...BUT that was not our original intention...we knew we wanted it during the summer(our fave time of year)...our RH had the date available and it falls on a friday which means 3 day weekend for most people...it just worked and now that we booked it, we are so excited that it is on the holiday...we'll ring in our marrige with fireworks

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

July 12th, 2008

I'm a teacher so I have about a month off before and more than a month after the wedding.

I always wanted an early summer wedding.

We did NOT want a Friday night, so there went 7-11 (which is my Dad and stepmother's anniversary anyway).....

There were only two Saturday dates left when we booked and it was either ours or August 8th...I didn't want that late of a summer wedding (there wouldn't be much time off for me afterwards).

And who would ever forget 7-11

haha, my friend had found an ID for me back when I was underage and the b-day on it was 7/11. I was so excited b/c I was like oh score, I'll never forget that date! Worked like a charm.

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

We chose our date b/c we wanted it to be fairly warm out but not hot (FH gets really really hot easily). We were shooting for May before Memorial Day, but got a better deal by going with April (19th was the latest date available in our RH). We have a lot of guests, so knocking the per person costs down saves us a substantial amount of money. We just knew we wanted a Saturday and not a holiday weekend b/c we have alot of oot guests so we didnt' want them to be stuck in traffic. We also did not want a summer wedding b/c we always rented hamptons houses for the summer and ended up missing weekends out there b/c of all the weddings we had to go to. Not to say there is anything at all wrong with having a summer wedding, we just kind of feel like everyone has a lot going on in the summer as it is, so we wanted to have our wedding in a more off season.

Plus we'll be in a rainforest in Austrailia for my b-day on April 27th, which I am really really excited about!

I actually choose January for a very important reason my mothers birthday was on the 26th she passed away 12 years ago from cancer...the 26th would have been her 60th birthday so i hope she is celebrating with us in Heaven

Omg that is so sweet! The 26th is a great day, my B-day too! I'm sure she'll be with you all day and truly appreciate it!

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

I'm a teacher but the summer is so much more expensive. We picked the Saturday before April break so we can save a little money and still have a week off for honey mooning!

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

We picked a summer date so that FH's family could come from Italy. Plus we are both summer people! But I would have loved to pick a date less expensive! Turns out family from Italy doesn't even know if they are able to come due to a new baby!

Re: how did you pick your wedding date?

We got engaged in late May, and I knew that it'd be very hard for me/us to plan a wedding in less than a year. But May and June were too expensive for us, July & August most of our relatives would be in Greece, September and October would also be too expensive for us, so we decided on November. The actual date was dictated by our RH...11/16 was the first Sunday they had available!
