Re: How do we feel about Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

Doesn't matter to me!!

At my SIL's baby shower they played Baby Bingo and gave away stuff from Victoria's Secret since her mom worked there!

I wasn't complaining when I won!

I hate them, but that's just me. For a kid's party, sure, not for adults.

Re: How do we feel about Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

Im confused... are we talkign about games and prizes being given out or the stuff the DJ gives.

DJ: love for all parties, I am junkie when it comes to getting useless things for free. Hence why I love my LIW shirt, Love my free pen I got at Leonards.. the list goes on and on.
Games & Prizes: I think they are fun also for Baby Showers, Kids parties and Bridal showers.

Re: How do we feel about Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

I like the giveaways, it adds to the good time while dancing. They're fun, like wearing a hat, sunglassses, or leai, even on the ride home. It's something I would probably throw out afterwards tho.

Re: How do we feel about the DJ Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

we're not having giveaways.... imo it's more for bar/bat mitzvahs and sweet 16s

on a side note, you cannot be taxed on the dj/band, etc but u will be taxed on the giveaways...

Re: How do we feel about the DJ Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

I think they can be fun for any party as long as its somewhat of good quality.I actually had them at my wedding, plastic hats, maracas, and sun glasses. Everyone had a blast with them, but it was inclueded in my package and was not an outrageous price or i wouldnt have gotten it.

Re: How do we feel about the DJ Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

Giveaways are great if there are going to be lots of kids at the event (Sweet Sixteen, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, etc.). If it's primarily adults, though, I'd say 'no' to giveaways. Just my opinion, though!

Not for a wedding... but for a party...like a birthday, anniversary, etc....

The age group would probably be...20 y/o - 40 y/o, majority being 25-35 y/o

Personally, I'm not a fan for an event that I would have, but I'll never pass one up when given out....

I'm quoting you to emphasize that you're not talking about a wedding.

For a party like a birthday or anniversary, I think that a giveaway would go over well with a younger crowd. As in younger birthday, sweet 16, etc. With older people, I think that it depends on what you're giving away and how it's done.

I agree, if I am sober, then I think they are silly, if I am drunk then I think giveaways are the best things ever.

I think it depends on the group of people at the party.

We think giveaways are tacky and take away from the wedding. Weddings should be classy not corny.

Okay-first, you haven't read the initial post. She specifically said NOT A WEDDING!!!

Second-you've just insulted a lot if girls who said they like them by calling it tacky.

As I said previously, I am not having give aways at my wedding but I think they can be fun at non wedding functions with a young crowd. This is my opinion and I don't think less of those who choose otherwise.

Words of advice-please read the post before you answer and please choose your words a little more carefully.

You know what's funny...all you have to do is read the first line...as it clearly states (IN BOLD) 'NOT FOR A WEDDING.'

I guess some people have an aversion to bold lettering!!! They probably just read the title and nothing else.....

Re: How do we feel about the DJ Giveaways???? (w/POLL)

I really don't like them... Whenever I have been to a party that has them, people dance around with them for a few minutes and then want to get rid of them so they wind up on the side of the dance floor, all over the tables, etc.
Not a fan of giveaways.
