I have the red jar too! I also got a sonic jewelry cleaner for Christmas. You just stick the ring on the holder and turn it on for a minute or two. I clean it once a week so that it's extra sparkly!

i soak with warm water and ammonia then scrub with a toothbrush. When I was in London, my ring got so scummy and gross. I had to soak it overnight then scrub it this morning for it to be decent.
I do the same thing! It works great! My ring has a tiffany setting (I think that's what it's called - solitare in a really high setting) anyway so much crap gets gunked underneath. My FSIL who sells jewlery (on the side) recommended the warm water, ammonia and toothbrush and boy oh boy does it ever make it sparkle!!!
But you don't need to use too much ammonia. Just a bit!

The red jar works great, and I just got a sonic cleaner (at BBB). Haven't used it yet, but will report back when I do!

Yeah I use maybe 4 or 5 times more water than ammonia and I love the reults. My ring still looks clean now.

little water with windex and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. It comes out perfect!
i do almost the same thing i just add a drop of dish soap with the windex no water, then heat until boiling, then soak for 20 minutes, gently brush before rinsing just to get the extra shine, and rinse with water.
