Wow, that is so awesome!!! I think I want to try this, even though I am really UNcrafty. I will probably end up hot gluing my fingers together!!!

Question....where do you put the photo cube at the wedding reception? How will the guests know to put their cards there? I will feel like a dork asking them to put it in the photo cube if they hand it to me. Is there any way you are letting people know to put them there?

Wow, I was thinking that today! I was like hmmn, 'I wonder where the photo cube box goes. Do people have a gift table at the wedding? Should I put it on my parents table and go over there anytime I get a card? Should I put it on the placecard table? But if I do, how would they know to put the cards in there and who would watch the box once we go inside the main room? Does it go on the cake table? Does the cake table stay out all night? So,I too have NO IDEA where to put it.

wow AZ that looks like quite the project. i am planning on maybe making a hatbox cake on my week off for gifts, btu we will see....i also have to make the signs for the thank you pic jsut remembered that

nope! haven't even worked on it, sorry guys was waiting for ray cause i need to hands to put it together, but we had no time this weekend

allison, we don't know where we're putting it yet either!

BTW: i cut the slit through the middle, but in hinesight, a diagnol slit is better because it'll hold bigger cards....DUH!

hmmmmmmmmm maybe i should've waited till we were done! we attempted it again this weekend, but the wood cracked when we were putting in the screws....

we're almost done with ours
FI didn't like the material we ended up putting on the top, so we will have to get new fabrick. Other than that, it looks great!

I am also going to put flowers around the base, because I messed up on the paint. I can't wait to show you what we've made!

it's coming out awesome!!!


we shoud start a 'wedding crafts club' or hold 'how-to's' with the '06 brides, and charge a fee, hold a class, and each class they can learn someting different, from Cake Card holders, to Photo Cube holders, to Votives place cards-MADE EASY to DIY invites, programs and placecards!

HA HA H AH A

we can turn it into a real business!

My FH did that part
We had to buy really small screws cause the ones the L shaped came with were too thick for the frame.

I was looking into doing the same box. I was a little unsure if the 8x10 frames would be too small to hold all of the cards. Please let me know since you are in the process if it looks deep and wide enough to hold the cards.

Oh yes!!! that reminds me!!! my dad kept telling me the 8x10 is too small, but we already bought and painted the base so we returned the frames and bought frames that are 9x12 i believe. It still fit on the base so now we're working with these

okay, so i've finally screwed the pieces together...i had some trouble because the frames kept cracking

here are some pics of where it's at now...forgive me i'm slow i just have to put the top on and it's done
