I'm glad you and FH had a heart to heart and was able to talk about the issue. It's not fair that your FMIL is putting him AND you in this position. I hope it all works out!

Glad to hear things are ok!!! Sometimes you need to air everything out, and its a good thing your establishing these boundaries now before your married!!! Your FMIL really sounds annoying! That whole towel thing would make me crazy! If we bought FH's house, I'm sure my FMIL would get a little quirky with stuff too, but I think it goes beyond that for your FMIL, since she's also snooping in your bedroom!!! That's so rude and absolutely inexcusable!!! I just hope that your FMIL will really understand & respect that you two need your own privacy.

So, so glad to hear that things are taking a turn for the better and that the wedding is back on. You have no idea how hard it was not to call you today. I thought about it and then decided it was best to let you be until things were sorted out.

I don't thik you're being insensitive. I probably would have had a confrontation with her a long time ago. I don't think it really matters who you are dealing with. It could as well be your mother, but when they overstep their boundaries, they overstep their boundaries. PERIOD. That is unnacceptable.

I know you guys bought her house, but when she comes over she should understand that she is now a guest. Oh, and reading about the three towels just made me think about the movie with the psychotic husband - I can't think of the title right now, but I'm sure you know which movie I'm talking about with Julia Roberts. She just knew when he was back 'cause the towels would be that way. Creeepy.

Does she still have keys to your home? If yes, I would change the locks. If no, then make it somewhat difficult/less accessible for her to stay over. You mention that she has other children. Maybe she can take turns at staying in their home - just a suggestion.

Anyways, I've gone on way too long with this post. I wish you the best in your situation.

I am so glad both of you are working things out. It seems like you really do love eachother and are willing to make things right in order for this wedding to happen. Aww I was so sorry to hear you would call off the wedding. I'm glad it's back on. I definetly agree with you though. Your FH needs to stand behind you in this and tell his Mom to back off alittle. I hope all works out. If you ever need to talk just FM me.

I just saw this post & I am so glad you spoke with FH and he understood. It seems as if he just had a hard time gathering the courage to speak to his mom -- it's a dificult thing to do-- to tell someone to BUT OUT! but together you guys will can make it all work. Stay true to your feelings.

ETA-- and the dining room is sooo nice-- you brought it into the modern age!!!!
