I have NO idea how much it cost, but I saw pictures from someone that had a tented wedding at the Nassau County Art Museum and it was incredible... gorgeous, and they also had use of the museum grounds for cocktails and such... sounded amazing.

I have always wanted a tented wedding in my mother's backyard (she definitely has the space). But she gave me a big thumbs down on the idea

I think you have an amazing dream and it would be unbelievable to do a wedding like that, however it would most likely cost you double or triple what you would pay if you had it in a hall. I say if you have the money GO for it!!!!

That's the kind of wedding I always wanted, only on a beach. Ugh- those pictures are Beautiful! I looked into it, and before I even finished getting all the costs together, I was way way over budget pllllggggh but good luck!! There's gotta be a way!

I am doing a tent wedding with NY Tent. Yes there are pros and cons. We are hosting 200 people, so we have to worry about a lot. Steve at NY Tent is great to work with. Yes, rentals are expensive, but you can save $$ with the catering and buying your own booze. We are not doing a floor but are doing a dance floor. I want the reception to maintain the casual elegance of the event. Hopefully we won't have to do porta potties, as we will drain the cesspool right before the party. We are also organizing Jitney buses to bring everyone to the church, from the church to our house and then back to the two hotels where we blocked rooms.

I have been told that a DOC is a necessity, but my caterer seems to have it all under control, and is doing a lot.

I love the fact that the tent reception has the ability to be 'sooo you'!

I am pretty sure that I am doing the lighting with Luminous Designs. Amber gobos, paper lanterns and maybe pinspotting. REMEMBER: LIGHTING IS KEY! You want that warm timeless glow. I have also heard that you should use as many candles as possible.

The prices for tent stuff can really run the gamet, (frame tent vs. pole tent, liner vs. no liner). So let me know if you have any questions about what you would like to do because I have become most knowledgeable about the whole tent deal! I also highly recommend NY tent. They came back with creative ideas and were a lot more helpful that the other 2 companies that came to check out the property.

Remember there is more stress, but I think it is worth it.

Haven't we all seen father of the bride? If only I had a Franc!!!

My wedding in Nov. I am using a Vineyard out on the north fork. The room the have is not big enough to fit my wedding, so we are having a tented connected to the back doors of the room. It will look outstanding and i'm very excited. Im not worried about rain or anything because the tent's are study and durable and we will have the inside. I can't wait!!
