Re: If You guys don't mind me asking
After reading this, I feel either I'm missing something major, or I've just been very lucky with my vendors!!! We budgeted $15,000. I think it is going to be closer to $20,000 because I didn't factor in the honeymoon and a video, which I decided now to get. My mother is taking care of my dress and accessories and the flowers. (only getting flowers for the BP and the church!)Good luck, ladies! We can do this! :)

when it's all said and done we'll probably have a bill totalling $60-70K and that's for a Saturday night wedding with approx. 230 people. It really hurts to see those numbers but we both really want a big wedding with all the bells and whistles and we're saving like crazy right now so hopefully when that bill comes in 17 months we'll be able to cover it.
I haven't totalled it up yet...but you and I are probably going to be in the same boat....we are both doing Saturday nights ...I have to guarantee 225 people. You have one advantage over me....more time to save $$$$$$.

What prize did you win?
It was the Walk Down The Aisle contest, WALK FM had.
The value of the prize is $10,000, it includes my hall and a bunch of vendors

Sometimes I think thats the smarter thing to do....I am unfortunately spending a fat down payment on a house for my wedding...but I'm one of those typical girls that have that 'its my one day' mentality.
I'm sure I may regret it later...hope fully not, but then maybe after the wedding, with all the gifts, and then saving for the house like we did for the wedding....can buy a house...
As for you...way to go smart thinker!!!

Nina, I'm just like you. I am only thinking of that one day. Thank God fiance has more common sense and is thinking past that, so he sometimes has to talk me out of some stuff that I want and in a way is unnecessary. Getting a house is so expensive that I see it as it doesn't matter how much we spend on the wedding (not like I'm going crazy spending) it is still going to take us a long time to put a down payment on a house.
