Re: Invitation?!?! FIL's not Paying, HOW DO I WORD w/a little venting/long

My parents are helping and not FH parent's

Still we worded the invite

Stephanie & Kevin, along with our parents....blah, blah

I think if you live with your FH, that is the way it is done.

Re: Invitation?!?! FIL's not Paying, HOW DO I WORD w/a little venting/long

I'll be the odd one out here...

My parents are paying for the wedding, and our invitation will only have my parents names on them. I know it may seem catty, but I really don't get along with his family, and his parents haven't done a single thing for the wedding...

Do I sound a bit bitter???

Re: Invitation?!?! FIL's not Paying, HOW DO I WORD w/a little venting/long

My ILs didnt pay so I worded my invitations like this:

Mr and Mrs S invite you to the wedding of their daughter
Diane S
to Nick C

Get it?

Just leave them out totally, its traditional that the parents of the bride pay in my family so it wasnt even noticed that anything was strange.

Re: Invitation?!?! FIL's not Paying, HOW DO I WORD w/a little venting/long

We did ....

Mrs my Mom

Requests the honur of

The the marriage of her daughter

to

DH

Son of Mrs his Mom.

His Mom really didn't do to much to help us plan the wedding but we had to mention her otherwise it would have caused major drama.

Re: Invitation?!?! FIL's not Paying, HOW DO I WORD w/a little venting/long

My parents and we are paying for most of the wedding with some contribution from his mom and none from his dad...we didnt want to make his mom feel left out....not that she said she was ...but my mom agreed taht the best thing for the invitations would be the Bride adn Groom, together with their parents invite you....

both moms were very happy and pleased with that

We were in the same situation. Our invites read:

Brides parent's names
request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter
me
to
FH
Son of
Groom's parent's names

***I felt bad to leave them off but it doesn't appear as if they are the one's hosting when their name is below their sons.

We did this, too. It's what I was going to suggest.

This is the best idea!!!!!!! Both parents on the invitation but gives your parents hosting credit since they are paying and the grooms are not at all.
