As you can see by looking at the poll most people think that a video is worth it. Everyone has their own opinion though. I can see its pros and cons and on some level I think I should get a video. However, I am painfully shy, and get red and blotchy when I'm nervous. I hate being the 'center of attention'. (I'm gonna needs lots of makeup that day I guess!!)I still think my FH should where the big white dress and I'll where the Tux

therefore, I am not getting a video because I know I will watch it and think of what an idiot I look like. I'd rather not see that. Photos are at least posed and if they don't come out good, I'll blame the photographer!!

Get it!!! We were on the fence and decided to get it, basic package with no baby pics or anything. I watched it so much in the beginning because it was just so fun to see the expressions on mine and DH's faces as well as our parents. I am so happy I have it so that one day I can share it with my kids and grandkids. We really missed alot on the big day from going around to guests to taking pics and it was really nice to kick back and just watch the whole day unfold. Oh Man, now I am going to have to go watch it again!!

First I just want to say that imo whether or not to have a video of your wedding day is strictly a matter or personal preference. I totally understand that some people HATE being videotaped and if it is going to make you feel uncomfortable on your special day then I definitely think you should do without one. We will be having a video of our wedding and are really excited about it. My cousin got married almost seven years ago and still watches her wedding video pretty often. I enjoy watching it as well, but it definitely depends on the person. There are many people out there who really would never feel like watching it. My cousin has said her favorite thing about it was getting to see everyone at the church before she arrived, and during the cocktail hour while she was taking pictures, as well as all the other moments she missed. You can't possibly pay attention to every person at every moment, and I am sure it is fun to have the video to see just how much fun everyone did have. It also good to have because you are pulled in so many different directions that day that so much really does go unnoticed. We are also choosing to have one because it is such an important day in our lives and the video will let us relive it again and again. Memories fade over the years and we think it will be great to be able to pop in our dvd and smile and laugh at all the moments that we might have forgotten about. We also felt in the grand scheme of things it was a very small price to pay. After all this planning and stress the pics and videos are all you're going to have. It is also sad to think about, but like many have already said, it is also nice to have because family/friends may no longer be here one day and it is a special reminder of them. We would also like our children to be able to watch our wedding- I have three young cousins that love to watch their parent's wedding video. Everyone has their own reasons for doing it though. I am a very sentimental person and I LOVE to watch wedding videos now, so I am sure when it is mine I will definitely be viewing it often. . If you definitely are sure you won't miss it, and you will rarely, if ever, use it in the future (which is the case for many people) then it is one way to cut the budget. However, if you are undecided about it and are onlyl considering it to save $ then I think you should maybe look into other options that may be less expensive. You don' t have to spend a lot to capture your special day on video. The film student or even just having your friend taping it ideas may be something to look into. You can never do your wedding day again so just make sure you are certain before deciding you dont' want the video.

All i can say is GET THE VIDEO...!

you won't regret spending the extra cash on it! My Dh and i have watched our a billion times and i have only been married 3 months

All throuth out my HM i couldn't wait to get back and see the video..

I am definitly having video at my wedding and I think it is actually really important. That day you are so busy and there will be so many things you miss, dont see, or dont get to enjoy that you would miss out on if you didnt have a video.
Another important reason for me to have it is for when our parents and other close family members are no longer around. I want to be able to see them laughing and dancing and having a good time. I know my children would like to be able to see it as well ( I really enjoy watching video from my cousins wedding with my grandmother that passed when I was very young talking on it)

I agree, well said. I think it's better than the photos. How many people actually take out their album and look at it often?
