I heard they were pretty good. Anybody know anything about them? Are their prices reasonable? Service?

I also like the idea of the glass bottom boats!

Cindy,

I booked them for my wedding in May. They came recommended from someone else's wedding. They were fairly reasonable and seem to give you al lot for your money. If I remember, the total price is around 2,000. That it with those really high centerpieces, 11 tables, 5 bm . They were cheaper than the other florist I went to by a considerable amount.

I booked Jack & Rose for my wedding in June. They were less expensive than other florists I went to. I agree with Michelle that you get alot for the money. They threw in many things that other florists charged for.

THEY SOUND REASONABLE - WHERE ARE THEY LOCATED??

I used them for my wedding and they weren't terrible nor was I embarassed of the job they did. I attended 4 weddings who used them and were all happy. I saved tons from not going through The Milleridge Florist and to me flowers are not that big of a deal. The majority of my money went to my hall and band-- 2 of the biggest elements. Hey, You can place a gorgeous flowerpiece in front of me but it doesn't make the food taste any better. I've heard tons of success stories with Burtons(they can be found at The Knot @ AOL messageboards),ok stories(like my own) and horror stories. One thing is for sure they are very nice to deal with....feel free to email me, I had 2 dozen red roses on brass candleabras with fillers--I will be more than happy to send anyone a pic who has a question on Burtons.............Gina

Very nasty - and something important to consider. I always close my window when driving to the airport......

They have 2 locations - 1 in Queens and the other is on Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury.

Did you find them to be very service oriented? I've heard that they're not very creative and don't seem very interested although their prices are very reasonable.

Just know that if you register now, be prepared to go back in 6 month intervals to update b/c inventory changes. I only registered in December and I just received a letter from Fortunoff's regarding the discontinuance of my sheets.....

Good luck - and take it slow. Even with the best plans, expect things to go a little nutty at times & roll with it! ;)

I met with Jack originally and thought he was great. He was very creative and willing to work with us. We were looking for something a little different than the typical boquets and centerpieces.

Another good idea that I have seen in the past for an engagement or to do at the shower.

In the basket put your brother's favorite things. If he likes spaghetti, put it in the basket. If he likes a certain shampoo, put in in the basket.

in response to cindy.....i went to 6 florists...all couldn't give me an ounce of creativity....until i met with jack of jack&rose....he spent 2 hours with me while other florists shoved me in and out with a price quote and no imagination.....think this is one of new york's best......also they were on lifetime network for weddings of a lifetime....wow what a wedding......check them out.....they seem to be a more personal and select florist....good luck

We decided on Nick's in the town of Montauk. It is a great spot if you are having a small (we are having about 110)wedding. We rented the second floor which is mostly all windows looking out onto the ocean.Claire & Nick are so nice to do business with and the food is great.

There is an entrance to the beach just outside the restaurant. We are having our ceremony there.

michelle and lorraine, i agree with you....i went to jack&rose and found out that they were great....very very creative and most of all helpful...and met with one of their manager's and then jack came over to introduce himself and added many other ideas that i wouldn't have normally thought of.....he was so nice and he seemed to genuinely care about my wedding and i guess it was portrayed down through his staff,.......something i thought was incredible was that while i was there at night his staff was still working on flowers that were going out at 7 a.m. in the morning....i can't belive how fresh they were....that was so exciting to see......they said that all of their weddings are put together within 15-24 hours of the delivery time......in my opinion they were great!!!!!my suggestion is that every bride deserves the opportunity to at least see and speak to them before you book with anyone.....you'll be soooooo glad you did.....

Well Ladies Saturday is my big day!! Wish me luck!! I just wanted to thank everyone here for a great nine months of planning. My BIG DAY has finally arrived and with you help, advise and tips I am sure that it will go off without a hitch. I will be back after my honeymoon to tell you all how it went! I will try to pop in on the board tomorrow, to let you know how thing are going. I picked up my dress today, and most of my out of town guests have arrived. Tomorrow I will just relax and wait for the rehearsal. Only 34hours left!!

susan i can't believe your message on jack&rose i forgot that i had seen them months ago....i'm going to call them again...thanks for reminding me....when i saw them it was when i just got engaged.....now i'm going to go back to them....jack one of the owners was very cordial....and true i did like the fact that he gave ideas and was helpful....i'll let you know how i made out....thanks again for your imput.

I got a price quote fron James Cress that was simply outrageous! He wouldn't even meet with us personally, we met with an assistant. My Aunt only uses him exclusively. I have to say some of his pieces(that I have received personally) have been off like any other place :)

Today we pause to reflect upon those who have shaped our character, molded our spirits and touched our hearts. May the lighting of this candle be a reminder of the memories we have shared, a representation of the everlasting impact you have made upon our lives.
