What your friend did was wrong. I feel sorry for her, being unable to do the right thing. She sort of admits that she knows she is not as independent as she should be.

I would totally lose it and cut her off!!!! I was stuck with tickets to a concert this year bc of a similar situation-- try to sell them on ebay or craigs list-- many people would love those tickets and you can hopefully get your money back!

I hate to admit this in a public forum but I have had my share of booty calls (WAY BEFORE FH) and none of them were worth more than 50 cents. When they started to TALK, their values depreciated.

Christine, you handled yourself like a classy lady and I would collect on those tickets!

Same here, Leslie...I have had my share of booty calls, and the only ones that stuck around for 2 years++, I STILL would not cancel plans for!!! They're booty calls, so they're available at any given time, TRUST ME!! When it came to guys, I called the shots!

Christine, I am so sorry. I don't think your friend even realizes how this guy knows he now has her at his 'beck and call' and will soon tire of her. I would fill the 2 spots at your wedding if I wasn't having my own!!!

Friends like that will only continue to let you down...I've had plenty of them and that's why I don't have many female friends. Been backstabbed too many times!!

But at least you know Andrew and I will be there to party with you after our wedding is over!!!

I could understand maybe if you guys were going to Lunch but Hello, its the US Open and you went to alot of trouble to get them. I would be so pissed. You better take that $750 from her for those tickets.

Wow Christine, that is horrible. I am with you...I'd be sooo pissed. That is no way to treat a friend....if she doesn't value the friendship, I wouldn't keep her as a friend.

Christine,

That is just AWFUL! I would never do that to someone let alone one of my close friends. Honestly, as someone else said, if she's willing to ditch this over a guy she just met, then she's not really a Tennis Fan. Even more importantly, if she's willing to do this to YOU especially after your phone call and how you explained how you went out of your way and how much it cost you, then she's not really a friend. But, in a way I kind of feel sorry for her that she is so insecure that she will lose this guy by ditching a day of furtniture shopping for a once in a lifetime thing like this. Because I think that's what it comes down to. I think you handled it very well. Make sure she pays you and definitely invest the money in a Chocolate Fountain.

I had a friend like that - as much as it hurts, it is definitely not worth the frustrations to deal with it all of the time.
