What did your boss say? That is really serious....(as far as what Shamma said - Insurance Fraud)
She has potentially really s c re w ed things up for you...

This is NOT good, IMO. For one, if you can go out and dance (on meds or not) then you can probably do some type of desk work- not heavy lifting but you can probably get your job done somewhat.

I am sure HR will hear about this, if your boss is upset that you are still out. Maybe you should just tell your friend that she could get you in a lot of trouble and ask her to please not make this any worse and keep her mouth shut. I HIGHLY suggest that you consider your disability status and perhaps need to discuss this with your doctor.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as the doctor says that you are not able to work and there are tests that back up what he is saying you should be fine. In order to prove insurance fraud there would have to be medical proof that you are completely healthy and able to work and that you and your doctor filed false information. I agree that your BM was way out of line in showing those pics to your boss, but don't let it get in the way of your happiness at this special time.

what is your bosses' style?? is he laid-back? what was his reaction?

honestly, as a manager if i had someone out on disability and then saw pics of them dancing i would go right to HR. even if you're not 100% better, your boss can probably argue that you can do some part of your job. even if you don't get in 'official' trouble, it might leave a bad taste in his mouth - you know what i mean??

what is done is done - i would definitely kick your MOH from here to eternity.

try to relax and enjoy the good stuff!!!

I dont mean to be reactionary, but if I were you, I would see a lawyer. I know someone who was criminally prosecuted for this. (He was out on disability on doctors instruction and the insurance company got a photo of him lifting a few UPS boxes outside of his home).

Forgetting the fact that your job might be at stake...there are more serious issues at hand.

Even if your boss is a good guy, he is responsible if he doesnt bring this to the attention of the insurer. I dont think many people would put their own jobs at risk to protect an employee so him being good bad or otherwise is irrelevant.

How do you know your boss saw them? Has your boss called you? Has she showed them to other people where you work as well?

I would take Stef' advise b/c I would be thinking the same thing.
