Re: My DIY Unity Candle (Favors & rice thows wrapped too)...Done!
ok.....
For the large pillar:
1. I printed on vellum the same words as my DIY invitations.
2. Cut it to the desired height and diameter around the pillar (I left a little extra to overlap in the back like 1/4'. I attached it to the pillar using pins and double face tape.
3. I attached the ribbon again using pins (the simple sewing kind with a flat head) I used the pins at the seam and in the center of the ribbon around the diameter (the ivory ribbon covered the pins and kept the brown in place)
4. I left a little extra brown ribbon so that could fold it over it's self and make a little helm (with hot glue), so it does not fray and hid the pins too.
5. I attached the ivory/rose/pearl ribbon with a little hot glue.
Tapers
used the same technique with the tapers for the brown and ivory ribbon (but I had to buy wire cutters to trim the pins, they would have gone right through the other side.
I hope this helps.....I just could not find any unity candles I loved.
--the ivory/rose ribbon I've had for years
--the brown ribbon (by the yard) only needed 1 yd at ACmoore
--Vellum, Acmoore
--Candles were from Michaels
Total Cost, about $12 (without looking for the receipts)
