Not bad at all. The first day was yucky and I was throwing up a lot, but after that I was fine. I think the key was I iced my face afterwards.

Yes, I agree!!! The oral surgeon said that makes the recovery so much quicker so I kept icing ever 15-20 minutes for the first tow days after surgery and hardly any swelling and no bruising.

I had all four removed at once

I was out for the operation as well.

all four were impacted and one he left a small piece of the fractured tooth left because it was dangerously close to the major nerve.

I a extremely careful about the recovery. I slept slightly veritical for the first two nights with ice packs on my face. I took my meds and only ate extra soft foods, no straws, no soda, no spitting no dry sockets

I did it on a Friday afternoon and was back to work Monday

Long term recovery of the very deep pockets I had left was a little werid. Cleaning and sorta odd feeling a flap of gum back there, but painless.

Im very very happy i got them all done at once.

The first dentist I went to said that if they aren't breaking through or infected, leave them alone. I was 22. By 24 they were painfully breaking through and shoving my teeth over. I wish only that I had done it sooner. The affect it had on the rest of my teeth Im still dealing with

I got all four wisdom teeth removed a few days before Christmas my freshman year of college. The experience itself was fine--except first a vein collapsed when they were tryin gto put me asleep and then they had to do oral novacaine. The oral surgeon had problems since I have a very tiny mouth so he had to cut my mouth a bit more and work hard (I heard his cursing!)--I didn't feel it though.

THe recovery was so/so.... some pain but drugs helped....was about a week of rest involved. If you need it done, get it done but not close to the wedding!

THIS IS WORST CASE SCENARIO

i had all four taken out...2 were impacted....had it done on a thrus afternoon....knocked me out completely until they were done....(i dreamt about our wedding) .....was kinda groggy....not too swolen...i tried to nap but the anesthiea was wearing out...and i couldnt take the vicadin right away cuz i didnt eat the whole day...so i was crying trying to sleep...woke up from the nap and started to swell....i was putting ice....but some people react differently.....then i thought i could go back to work on friday....oh HECK no!!!! i woke up and i was SWOLLEN like a mo'fo!....FI called me a blockhead! i couldnt eat any solids for few days....no more pain...but swollen! i didnt go back to work till Tuesday.....but now four weeks later i am swollen on one side...Dr, said i could have a infection, maybe food got stuck there...so they have to cut my gum open!....Crap!!
hopefully none of this happens to you....

TIPS:
- ask for antibiotics if they dont give you
- use ice
- gargle w/ salt and warm water fafter every meal for the following 3 weeks, just to be sure
- brush your teeth after every meal (even during work)

it really depends on your tolerance and how good the dentist is. i am such a crybaby when it comes to dentists,but when i had my two top ones pulled on the same visit, it didnt hurt.i swear:

i JUST took out my last wisdom tooth this past monday. with 2 weeks go to to my wedding you can say i definitely stalled!! i didn't have laughing gas but instead have just novocaine, which some ppl might think is crazy, but it wasn't so bad. of course i've been high on vicodin all week, so nothing seems too bad right now. lol. trust me the hardest part is working up the nerve to schedule an appt. this tooth and hte last one were impacted. the other two i had taken out a few years ago and they had not come in yet.

I only had two wisdom teeth and they were on the same side of my mouth. I had little swelling and it wasn't so bad....braces hurt a lot more for me (and getting my tonsils out). I know I was lucky...I didn't even need to take any pain killers.

I had only one of my wisdom tooth pulled. I was so nervous. I had never had any teeth pulled before. I was even thinking about taking gas but he shot me with novacain and in 2 minutes it was out. The best experience I had. I love my dentist!!!

I like you was so afraid that i put it off for 5 years I only went because ithey started to hurt really bad, the dentist told me it is less painful to remove them then to fill them. Well I didn't beleive him so i tried to have them filled, after about five novicaine shots I asked him to stop it was too painful. I made an appointment and had all four taken out at once. They oral surgeon put me out when i woke up i had no pain. I only took advil maybe once. As long as there not impacted it does not hurt bad. If they are impacted I think it depends on how impacted they are. Hope this helps.

I have all 4 of my wisdom teeth out about 4 years ago and it honestly wasn't that bad. I am so bad when it comes to pain, blood, needles, etc, but it wasn't that bad. The surgeon was AMAZING!! He started to explain the whole process to me the day of and I was like yeah I can't hear that, hahahaha. My mom is a nurse so she took care of me afterwards, changing my gauze and making sure I was healing properly. It really isn't that bad, I promise!

i had the bottom two taken out (they were impacted)

i did it on a friday and i was back at work on monday. it wasnt that bad....definitely get the drugs!

I've had mine taken out at different times. Now, I am a complete wuss, I had to be knocked out all 4 times because I just didn't want to be awake for anything. The first time I was so dopey, that I was hallucinating. I thought the doctor gave me a nose job
Then I started cursing people out in the street
I was a handful for my mom to deal with. The second time, I was out for a long time. I just didn't want to wake up. The 3rd & 4th I had done with a different oral surgeon. He was great. When he would knock me out, he would call it 'Happy Juice' and boy was I happy with that. I remember that after I had my 4th taken out, I went to a Mets gave right after he took it out.
I was fine after having them all done. I had some pain for like a day or two, but that was it.

FH on the other hand, went to the dentist on base before he deployed to Iraq. They suggested that he have them taken out before he left because it could bother him while he was there and then would have to get them removed there. So he had all 4 removed all at once while he was home. His face was really swollen and he even had some bruising. It took a few days for all of that to go down. He was giving me such a hard time because he didn't want to leave the house because of how he looked. Some men can be so vain.

I got put to sleep and got all 4 out at once. I woke up hysterically laughing and said 'That was fun!' My mom and the oral surgeon died laughing. I guess I was still a little drugged!

Best part, I didn't remember a thing!! The pain after wasn't that bad...I mean, you will definately be swollen, and you will need to rest and tthey give you pain killers. Don't worry, it wasn't that bad!!

I had a wonderful oral sergeon. I chose to get all 4 done at once because of the stories I've heard, I knew I wouldn't go back.

It took about 4 minutes to extract all 4 teeth, but it only felt like 2 minutes. I woke up with cotton in my mouth and a little blood (hope I'm not getting to graphic). I was given pain medication, which I didn't even need. No swelling, no bruising - my experience was great!

At first when the dentist told me i needed to get all 4 out i was terrified.. I was in so much pain, that i just wanted to get rid of them. I took all 4 out at the same time.. it was painless during surgery, b/c i had a wonderful oral surgeon. After words was painful, and i had to sip soup and eat jello for a while. but it was all worth it!!!
