Re: NYC Employees-Who is in work today?

I don't usually take the LIRR so I didn't have a ticket and had to wait outside for over an hour in the freezing cold just to buy one! They were collecting tickets before you even go onto the platform. I think that's so messed up, they shouldn't be charging people today. Then I took the PATH to get downtown, which went through Jersey first, and then I walked 20 minutes from WTC. All in all, 3 hours. Not happy.

I'm here - I'm going to stay late and do some tourist free Christmas shopping. My office has offered to put us up in hotel rooms if it becomes necessary (there are only a couple of us).

maybe I'll see you around Melissa...it's actually kinda nice to have the city less packed for once, even though it costs us so much money in lost revenue

Is it bad that after I warmed up in my office my first thought was 'tourist free Fifth Avenue!'? Maybe our shopping could ease the loss just a bit

Re: NYC Employees-Who is in work today?

I had to take the LIRR in and waited on line for 1 1/2 hours to buy the ticket. I am not looking forward to the commute tonight!

Re: NYC Employees-Who is in work today?

FH just called me to congratulate me on getting into the office and when I vented about having to walk in the cold, he told me to look at the bright side and think about all those calories i just burned! (i'm not sure if i should laugh or cry over that)

I definitely agree with that! Except for Penn Station, my walk to work was not that crowded and there were minimal cars on the road.

The lost revenue is bad...our commuting costs will just go up next year :(

I made it in to my second day of work on time! MY boss was happy about that. I hope this ends soon. I have to walk 25 blocks from Penn....hey at least I don't have to workout this week!
