Re: October Girls Update

We'vs finally made some progress with some things that have been lurking around-

We picked out our wedding bands. We're having them made at Elsa's. I just had the wax mold made of my ring tonight.

We've done the research on the Mediterrean cruises for our HM. All that's left is to officially book it.

The invites are in and now need to be addressed. (They came out beautifully IMO. I don't have a scanner- so I can't share).

We have a meeting with the priest next week. I'm really ready to start planning the ceremony now

Re: October Girls Update

I finally found some invites that I like. Now if I can get my FH and my mom to agree on one we can order them. My dress should be in really soon. I got my undergarments, but they need to be altered and I still need to find a headpiece and veil (I am waiting for my dress to come in to get a sample of the lace so it will match perfectly).

Re: October Girls Update

i'm losing motivation to do stuff...i think it is because it is stuff that i don't like...addressing the invites...i have to get a move on, but i am just not motivated to do it....i'm getting lazy...

did anyone have their shower yet, or know when it is?

i have no idea, but i think i heard my mom talking about it the other day inside with my aunt while i was outside with my grandma. i really want it to be a suprise, but i keep trying to figure out how they are going to suprise me.

My shower i find out bits and pieces from my big mouthed FH! Not that i stop him from giving the details..
Mine is the 2nd weekend in Sept., it will be at my grandparents (that was hard to hide since they re-did their entire backyard-hope it doesn't rain) and it will have a wine theme

Re: October Girls Update

I think mine will be in early August. I live in California and I'm going to be home (NY) for the first two weeks of August. So it kinda has to be then! Don't know if I'll be back again before the wedding.

Re: October Girls Update

What a STRANGE weekend.

Ok Saturday started off with us doing a 4pm tasting at Stewart Manor! AWESOME! Talked to James about our lack of head count and other issues. He came up with a solution to our lanterns and other stuff. Pointd us to Pier 1. After that I was trying to find jewelry for my BMs. I loved this Indian look (India) that I found in a mall in Reading, PA the weekend before. I figured I’d find it cheaper in NY right?? So I started in Queens, Jackson Heights and found NOTHING, then went to Smithtown and shopped the mall, NOTHING. What I did find was around $200 EACH SET!!

So, Sunday we drove BACK to Reading PA (talk about dedication) and straight into the mall. The sets were $45 with 40% off and came to $27 a set. So I’m sold right? Nope she doesn’t have enough. She’ll get back to us and ship them to Long Island if she has enough of them ARGH. I was so down. So I went book shopping (always a cure for me).

Monday, we’re getting ready to leave Reading when I say “lets stop at the Pier 1 here”. So off we go. Well they’re having some sorta store sale. I found my CHOPSTICKS! All 100 of them! I bought them for around $100 all together which is $200 LESS THAN what I was budgeting for them! I also found the standing shepherds hooks to hold the lanterns on each table. I have Chinese glass etched iron lanterns for each table and really wanted them to have a stand and be ‘hung’ if you will. Well we found 3 of those types of stands. I was so happy! I took them home and tried them out to see if they were tall enough and sturdy enough. They were! This is around 7:45 by the time we got back to Long Island. Took off to the Carle Place Pier 1 and bought 7 more (need a total of 12) so now all I’m missing is 2. Went to the one in Happague but they didn’t have any and made it to the one in Flushing with just minutes to spare before they closed (at 9pm) and bought my last two!

WHEW ! What effort!
From Nassau, to Queens, to Suffolk, to PA and back again! Thank god gas was only $1.77 in PA!

Hrmm
I'm the same day as you girls, but I'm putting mine in the mail in July. Hopefully no later than Aug 1. My RSVP is 9/15.

Re: October Girls Update

Hey I'm another 10/23 bride! My rsvp is much later than everyone's - October 9th (but I am not doing seating arrangements). Invites will go out mid-August.

When is everyone having their rehearsal dinner?

Re: October Girls Update

My RH is Thursday Oct 21st. The church called me about 2 weeks ago to tell me that. I was thrilled. Any ideas on RD sights?

Re: October Girls Update

I would like my rsvp to be October 1st but I still need to find invitations so I guess it will all depend on that. I'm going to look at some this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
