Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

Posted by RVCBride

I got the 'special promotion package' for 4499.99 + tax. I gave them a deposit of only $500 just to save the date and plan on giving them a second payment (20%) when I see them for my casual day shoot.

I am looking at other brides and their quotes and I think mine is a lot higher for the same package.

Please tell me if any of you DUET brides got quoted lower for this package:

2 main photographers
2 days shooting, casual and wedding (up to 12 hrs)
1 flush mounted album 10x10: 40 images
2 flush mounted ablum for parents 5x7 (24 images)
special color work
black and white included

1 videographer
1 day shooting wedding day (12 hrs)
3 CCD Digital Camera
Photo montages, pre-shot, ceremony
formal & reception
music overlay
full editing
3 dvds

1 16x20 enlarged pic
thank you card 125
all proofs with proof box (guarantee 600)

Also, if I wanted to add put proofs on CD you don't think that be a problem right?

Did i get quoted correctly?
Thanks

We are going with the Diamond Plus Package for 500 more . You have to look at what you really need and don't need. For the thank you cards we aren't going to need 150 so we are getting 100 but a mini album. You can certainly discuss things with Eric. I went back and negotiated little things in the fine print at the bottom of the contract and changed a few quantity #'s for each album. Like you we are getting the proofs in a proof box but are getting all the negatives. Get each of the items you want in writing on the contract. If you want longer time frames on your wedding because the hair stylist is getting there at 7 am discuss it with Eric and get it in writing. If you think of something make a apt. or call or email them.

Best Wishes to everyone.

Thomas

PS. If anyone wants the details on the package we got just Fm or email me anytime. I'd like to see what improvements they have made to the packages. I know the website has changed alot since we signed in 2/04

I went and met with Duet on Friday night and was totally impressed with their photography and prices. I'm not totally sold on their video. They just showed us clips of several kinds, but never a finished version.

Has anyone seen a finished version? Your opinion?

If you got chapters, what three did you choose?

Think they could do these chapters? I'm looking at their promotional package for $4500.
- photo montage
- hightlight
- ceremony
- reception
- first meeting

I'd appreciate any feedback!

Congratulations to the both of you. When we went we saw a couple of DVDs.

If their is anything you want from Eric and Duet just ask. He can let you watch them on the laptop if he has another apt.

Always ask for at least 3-5 referrals from past customers at different time intervals so you can see how their work has progressed. One of the vendors I went to for Photo and Video said he didn't do DVD and wouldn't get the machines till next year. If time permits we are all finding vendors booking really fast and are giving ourselves at least a year in advance or more. I think it's important to make sure all the options out their are available to us. Hopefully we are getting all married into a lasting relationship in which we with both grow together. So the little things are very important to me and I always keep in contact with my vendors and get any changes in writing.

Best Wishes to everyone,

Thomas

Feel free to Fm, email , or AIM me for anything .

PS

And remember it's not only her day it's yours too.

Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

I just wanted to add that I loved Duet's Work! I wanted to just mention when you work out your package that you should consider not getting the 16 X 20 pict. We should of ordered the 11 x 19.

DH hated our 16 x20. NOt b/c of Duets work but, imagine every wrinkle, double chin, pores amplified. It is not a pretty sight. We ordered 3 for our parents and we refuse to give those photos to them.

I am only mentioning this b/c I wish someone would of warned me about it.

For the Video, I wish they would of done table shots. Make sure, you remember to check off the list. We forgot to do that!

Overall, we received so many compliments on both the videos and the photographs.

Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

I thought their work was outstanding and the fact that they are offering coffeetable digital albums at such a good price sold me. BUT, they were very hesitant to allow me to reserve specific photographers. They wouldn't tell me which ones shot which of the sample books. I was told all of the photographers have the same sensibility and they are all talented, so don't worry. That makes me anxious. Should I be worried that I don't have specific photographers penciled in for my date? Will it be too late if I wait till my engagement shoot to see if I like who they assign me?

Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

Hi,

I was thinking of calling duet for a quote. Who should I ask to speak to? If you can elaborate on the packages you received, it would be appreciated.

Also, which photographer/videographers did your wedding? And do you recommend them?

Please do let me know.

Have you seen or talked with other vendors? Do you have an idea of what you might want the final product to be like? Don't be afraid to ask what every little thing you don't understand is or need clarification. Eric is warm and very friendly. FM me with any concerns you may have. I don't know what you have seen already as far as packages.

A good start is to read the posts here and do a search for Duet in other chat forums. Like the Bride's review, or 05 Brides, etc.

Which office are you going to visit?

Feel free to FM, AIM, or email me anytime.

Best Wishes,

Thomas

PS

We negotiated on our contract at least 3 times before we were happy. Get everything in writing on the contract. Even if you think it's something that should be included as part of a package or verbal agreement. Eric is very easy to get along with and feel free to watch a whole wedding video not just clips. Look at everything they have. For me it's what I don't like, narrows down my choices.

Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

I'm new here but I have also booked with DUET for 7-30-05.

After reading this entire thread and looking at everyone's proofs, I really wanted to meet with DUET. As soon as we did and saw some more of their work, both FH and I were totally convinced...

Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

The casual shoot is normally not included in the package. The fee depends on what location you decide for the shoot.

They do shoots in NYC and in Long Island. Some places require a permit, but Eric or Nicole will be able to answer specific questions about the locations.

FM me if you have any questions...

Re: OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

Hi everyone,

We met with Duet yesterday and it looks like we might go with them... Eric said the photographers available for our date (Oct 8th this year!) were either Jay, Scott, or Alberto. Has anyone worked with any of these 3?

I'd say I want something like 50/50 traditional and photojournalistic.

Thanks a bunch!
