Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I think your best bet it to slightly cut down the guest list. There will be people that say no and then there will be people who just don't show up. So as long as they can accomodate like 400-425, inviting 450 should not be so bad.But if you do change your mind and would like to go somewhere different, my wedding was at THE FLORAL TERRACE and it can accomodate 500 people. It is a beautiful place and their vienesse dessert buffet was the best any of my guests have ever seen. So if worst case scenario, you can contact them, www.floralterrace.com. GOOD LUCK!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
hey girls,i hope things are going well for all of you. i can't believe some of you are getting married in just a couple of weeks! i still have more than a month left and i'm already nervous....i feel like it's going to be really hard to make sure all the little things come together on the day of...i was wondering if any of you are using a DOC or can recommend someone (and approximately how much it costs)? thanks so much!
soni how's your RH search going? you shouldn't worry because i think there are a lot of place on long island that can accomodate that many people....hotels are definitely a good option, because they have big banquet halls...and don't worry about the fact that you know a lot of other people that got married in the same places....all the personal touches like flowers, favors etc. make the place your own....

Okay. So I made a a day trip yesterday to NY (WORST DAY EVER...left my house at 7 am didnt get to NY till 4 pm!!!)We decided to keep villa barone. We will definitly have enough seats for 450 but its just going to be a little tight but i loooveee the place so we decided to keep and print the cards ASAP now.
we also got my mandap, reception background and centerpieces done. some local guy that owns his own store in flushing is doing it and hes sooo easy to work with and he gives you a good price!
