Count me in- July 27, 2008. I was just debating about the cake issue at Leonard's this morning with FH. I am actually going to a cake tasting somewhere else this weekend. I was a bit upset because I recall being told that I can get the cake to my taste and desire. From so many brides on here, I have found this to be untrue. Any past Leonard's bride can comment on this issue.

BTW, I went to a food tasting in November and loved the food. I heard that Leonard's is the one of the only ones that does the full food setup.

Yeah, I heard that too! I think it's great because it gives you an idea of how the cocktail hour will be....ugh I really need to go back with FH and our parents for second opinions!

I'm getting married at Leonard's in May 2009. I did my tasting already and the food was good.

I plan on using the cake that they provide. We have a small wedding with an even smaller budget. This is one thing I can save money on. I haven't seen a cake book of talked about the cake at all yet though.

The question I do have is where are you blocking hotel rooms? Also if you can FM me rates that would be really helpful! I'm looking for an affordable hotel for my guests.

I was going to check out the Andrew hotel and there's another hotel that's seconds away too....I forgot the name

The other hotel is the Inn at Great Neck.

Both that and the Andrew are too expensive for my taste and my guests', so we're going to block off rooms at hotels in Queens so it's easy for the guests to get to the church, and then provide transportation for them to the reception and back to the hotel.

Also, on Northern Blvd, ~3 miles from Leonards in Bayside is the Anchor Inn, the Ramada Inn, and the Adria Hotel...they might be more affordable than the ones in Great Neck. One of FH's cousins blocked rooms at the Anchor Inn for her wedding, and the hotel was apprently nice inside.

Hey guys! Before I say anything, I just want to say Congrats to everyone on this site. U guys have been really warm and helpful. I'm crashing in from the 2010 bride lol.......I have quite some time to go, but Im also getting married at Leonards and wanted to read up on some of the info u guys have been posting. I went to Leonards last Friday and they had a tasting then but I didnt stay to have any food. I was told that they are held twice a month so I might just crash the next one. As for the cakes, I was told that they usually sit with u and have u choose 6 months prior to the wedding. There was one that I heard that was really really good but I just cant seem to remember the name lol.........It starts with a C and I think its some type of cream lol ( I know that doesnt help)..........ahhhhhhh its called Cannoli! . If your concerned about the looks of the cake u can always have your florist decorate it for u (thats what Im going to do lol). ............Does anyone know if theres a charge for the cake, or if its included lol. I never even bothered to ask when I did my contract lol

Cake is definitely included, but you can upgrade...but I think that's focused more on the icing, not the style of the cake..

Yea whats up with the cake..I am a cake person and I am telling you now, I am tasting the cake...If they have a problem, I will make sure they make use cakes to try...LOL

Speaking of Leonards cakes...my photographer recently posted on his blog photos of a wedding that took place at Leonards (and the ceremony took place at the same church i'll be getting married at, too!)

Here's a photo of the cake from that wedding...don't know if it was a Leonard's cake or an outside cake, but thought I'd share with you anyway
