Speaking of Leonards cakes...my photographer recently posted on his blog photos of a wedding that took place at Leonards (and the ceremony took place at the same church i'll be getting married at, too!)

Here's a photo of the cake from that wedding...don't know if it was a Leonard's cake or an outside cake, but thought I'd share with you anyway

PS - check out the other photos on his blog ...there's a great one of the bride on one of the Leonards couches...)

This cake looks like it could be from leonards...i've seen a past leonards bride with a cake like this and she got it from them..

when I talked to my BM he said there was a tasting every saturday..

is that not true????
I'm going to try to go to that one..

now i have a dumb question
is tasting it free?

I don't know how often the tastings are, but they are free, and from what I understand you can bring as many people with you as you want as long as you RSVP.

I always wanted a big cake and the cakes at leonards tend to be on the small side...I'm trying to figure out what she paid extra for probably the icing...I'm just hoping they'll work with me and give me a sizeable cake..

You can call the general number and tell whoever picks up that you're interested in attending the tasting...they'll ask you how many are coming, and that's it

When I first visited, Maurizio was the one that showed me around, but I didn't book that day...but I decided I wanted to book the very next day but Maurizio wasn't there, so Patrick did the contract with me...I've been back about 2 or 3 times since then and I met with both of them just to go over a few things and to find out if I could get things replaced or exchanged, and I like Maurizio better because he's willing to work with you more..he wants to make sure you're satisfied with everything before you leave so I consider Maurizio as my BM...whenever I decide to go back, i'm going to meet with him, he's such a great guy! Patrick is nice too, but waayyy less lenient

I don't see why they wouldn't do that, it's such a simple request...but if I were you, i'd ask maurizio, you'd have a better chance with him!

I have Antonio as a BM. He's been great so far, FH and I really like him. I guess it should be no big deal.

Just a heads up on hotels too.

I found the
Inn at Great Neck at $190 plus tax
The Andrew at $179 plus tax
The Adria Ramada at $145 plus tax
The Anchor Inn at $111 plus tax

The Anchor Inn looks nice from the outside (haven't been inside)...don't forget that NYC hotel tax is ~15.5% (i think it's sales tax plus additional hotel tax). We're actually choosing hotels that are closer to our church and we'll provide transportation for OOT guests to the reception and back.
