I honestly think that as other girls said - you should wait til after the initial alterations are done.... then you have a better idea of what you are working with!

I *love* your dress - perfect for an afternon, beach wedding. Any dress with such a dramatic back, will have a simpler front - you don't want urge overkill! But, if you honestly feel you need a change, I would lower the neckline a little - not in a V - just a little lower on the scoop.

But personally, I love it the way it is. Add a simple choker and your veil - very pretty.

I think for a beach wedding, it's perfect. I agree with the nice choker, hair up and some extra makeup, you'll look perfect

I really don't think you need to change a thing to your dress. It's perfect for the type of casual beach wedding you are having!!!!

Consider that the dress was A) too big B) wrinkled and C) had pins everywhere....

I think once the alterations and pressing is done, it will be GORGEOUS and you will look fabulous!

I think once you put on your headpiece and veil and your wedding jewelry, it will all come together!!!

I wore a dress like that for a friends wedding but it was baby blue and bill levkoff last may.

Best of luck the back is great, be careful using the ladies room though!!

The bridesmaid dress we wore like that had the drap as a cowl neck in the front as well.

Here goes my $0.02. I love it the way it is. I think that it is perfect for your ceremony. It is elegant and by the time they do the alterations it will look perfect. Buy before you make any decisons I also suggest that you wait until the alterations are done.

The dress is beautiful! But if you are not 100% happy with it, I think you should change it to what makes you happy. I also think the front may be sexier if you change it to a V-neck.

I love the back. The whole dress is simple and elegant, and simplicity is what you want for a beach wedding. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but is there any beading or detail on the front at the neckline? Personally, I like the high neck line. It think it would allow you to go more elaborate with a headpiece and veil, and draw all the attention to your face. I also think it would look beautiful if you changed the neckline either into a V or rounded out.

So whether you can alter the neckline, or you can't (but you can get a gorgeous headpiece), I think the dress is gorgeous and you'll be a beautiful bride!!

I don't think 50 days is too late to do major changes on the dress. I had bell sleeves made and put on my sleeveless dress, and they only started making them about three weeks before my wedding.

Call them right away and ask!

I think the dress is perfect just as it is!! I wouldn't change a thing! I think the front is totally stylish and sexy...with the back (which I LOVE) I think a V neck would be overkill....JMO

with a cute choker and a great hairstyle you'll look AWESOME!!

I think it is very elegant....I love simple dresses. It is very lovely and with nice jewelery it is going to look awesome.

The dress looks pretty, I love the back of it, the front is a little basic and high, I like the idea of the v-neck, but i think its easier to just leave it and it will add more attention to the beautiful back of the dress!

I looked at the picture again, and I really think you should leave it. You know it looks good this way, and any alterations would be a gamble. It's timeless, and with the right jewelry and flowers, you'll def look more bridal.
BTW, I was thinking a necklace like this would look FAB!

It's custom made by Carrie D Mader but maybe you could find something similar on ebay?

You guys are sooo great!!!! I love all of your suggestions!!!
I wasn't planning on a veil actually a loose pony tail mid-head with flowers...but I love those back necklaces...I've seen them in several magazines. I think I'm going to call Bridal Reflections and ask for an earlier second fitting. This way I can back revisit my dress and see what it looks like with alterations. Then I'll speak to the seemstress and ask her opinion.
Now I'm wondering if I should do a veil to draw the attention to my face....hmmmm.
As for earrings...I just bought these..they were inexpensive..so I figured I'd give them a try. I wanted sparkly! Give me a second to post.

I vote for NO VEIL! I think it would be too much with your gown. Flower(s) in your hair or nothing at all (simple) would look nice for a beach wedding.
