Re: Please Help - wedding & inlaws
you say FMIL is looking at white (bridal) dresses.. has she tried any on??? Then i would worry.. other than that it may just be a way of expressing her jealousy that you will be center of attention with her son and not her! my FMIL is like that.. she ALWAYS needs to be the center of attention and that worries me cause if she is not made the focal point she MAKES herself the focal point..again, good luck!

What planet is this woman on? Under NO circumstances should she be thinking of buying a wedding dress. The nerve of some people

She is going to look like an idiot wearing a bridal gown to someone else's wedding.
As for the extras your FFIL is requesting, tell him that your family has already budgeted X amount, if he wants the extras then he can pay for them.

It sounds like both your FILs want to be the center of attention.
If your FFIL wants all the extras, he should pay for them completely since it isn't important to you or your family (that's how I'm working things with my FH, if it's a necessity and they really want it, they need to pay).
For the dress thing, if she does do it (and I hope for your sake she won't), she'll look ridiculous. Maybe if you could get your FH to let her know how ridiculous she would look.

Re: Please Help - wedding & inlaws
You've got an army of brides to back you up. We'll all come after her if she wears that dress.I think that the easiest solution to this problem is to tell her what color you want her to wear. Pick one. Anyone. It doesn't matter. But she'll have to get a dress in that color, which will (hopefully) not be purchasable in a bridal gown.
My MIL is a winner too, I completely sympathise.

Re: Please Help - wedding & inlaws
I just wanted to add that I told my DH about what your FMIL wants to wear to your wedding and he said 'I would tell her if she does that she can't come to the wedding'. and that's coming from a guy! that is so wrong on so many levels!
