I love Port Jefferson Florist - the owner, Kathy, is amazing as a designer and super sweet - she even had a wedding in Brides magazine. Her prices are REALLY good, too.

Flowers by Brian in Mineola. They are expensive but great! They do all the flowers for Regis and Kelly when they have their wedding week!

I'm right there with ya!! I booked with Port Jefferson Florist (Kathy) after meeting with 4 other florists. She was the ONLY one who understood what we were trying to accomplish in CPs and the most financially reasonable. I have receommended her to others!

Re: recommend your florist
I'm using James Cress. I use them whenever I send flowers (for birthdays, get well, etc...) and they are extremely generous with the number of gorgeous fresh flowers in their arrangements. Also, they have a whole wedding department with a ton of books, and pictures at every catering hall so it really locked in the visual. My mom and I met with Gary and he was so helpful and creative - I can't wait to see how everything comes out!

Add me to the Nancy bandwagon!!
To answer your other questions . . . . I recommend visiting as many florists as you want. I met with a total of 14 before booking Nancy. Have the florist create a sample for you before you sign a contract (even if you have to pay for it). Find out how many flowers they guarantee you will have in your bo-k and BM's bo-k (for example, if you are doing roses, do the bo-ks have a dozen, two dozen, three dozen stems in them?). Find out what, if anything, they will include for free (petals for tossing, decorating the cake). If you want candles included, find out how much they cost, and if the price will change if you change candles (from pillars to tapers or the other way around) or provide them yourself (online places that sell candles for a very low price).
