digital is THE WORST for stuff like that! They made those cameras to be unflattering, I hate them.

Maybe if you change/eliminate the tiara, you will be happy, I know you have been undecided with them...

Don't worry, you will look amazing-you have to start believeing that, or else you will be focused on the WRONG THING leading up to the wedding!

You will look so different once you are all dolled up. When I tried my dress on my mom said out loud in front of the whole fitting room 'You are going to have to add something to your chest...it's too small'. Thanks mom! Do you want to show us the pics? I'm sure you look great. I thought I looked bad in mine with no make-up on after working all day.

If so, it could very well be possible that you are feeling the way you do....so I would just relax, take a deep breath and know that no bride can be ugly!!!!

I know exactly how you feel! I'm sure everyone goes through this...just keep in mind when you are all made up on you big day you will be so radiant and feel so beautiful that you will be gorgeous! There is no need to worry!

good point Tray....but seriously dont pay attention! The pics probably look not so great because #1 the lighting in those places SUCKS!!! and thats probably the reason....dont look at the pics..DELETE THEM!!

I am sure that you looked beautiful. Maybe just because it wasn't fitted to perfection it looked a little off. You are gorgeous so you could never look like an ugly bride. I'm sure it was the camera and lighting as the other girls have said. Feel Better

I know this is not really going to make you feel better, but I felt the same way when I tried on the sample dress. Loved it, everyone loved it - and then I saw the pics. Don't know if I should get it now.


Think of it this way -- people don't look the same way on pictures as they do in real life. You are beautiful, and I've seen the dress in the store - it's one of my favorites. Listen to your mom, bring a couple of girlfriends and judge from their impressions.

Also, how good is your mom at taking pictures? You know that a slight turn of the camera (pic taken from up or down, 3/4 view or straight out) all make a big difference in terms of how one looks. Depending on how the pic is taken, it can add or take away inches from your height and weight. Also, did you pose?
The real thing will be taken by a professional photographer - and judging by your engagement pitures, you've already found out that Duet knows how to take the best photos of you. Add to that the bridal makeup, hairstyle, and the radiance every bride exerts, and I don't have a single doubt that you will look absolutely stunning on your wedding day in person and on the wedding pictures that follow.

You are going to be a beautiful bride. You need to stop focusing on the pictures - that is what is going to drive you nuts! From what I've heard, most brides hate the way they look in their first pics - it will get better!

Julz don't worry!! We are always our own worst critic!! I'm sure it was just bad lighting and you still need to have the dress finished. Look at how many brides post that they hate their dress in fittings but once it all comes together that day - the fittings, the hair, the makeup & the moment - it'll be stunning!!

I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better. From all the pictures you have posted of yourself so far, I can't imagine you looking as horrible as you think you do. You're a BEAUTIFUL girl and you're going to be gorgeous on your day! There's no question about that.
I know we're all stressing on trying to make our days perfect. Try focusing on how happy you and FH are. Everything will be perfect..You'll see. AND STOP LOOKING AT THOSE PICTURES!!!

I'm sure you looked great in your dress. As mentioned above, there are so many other factors. On your wedding day, you will be all made up, hair done, surrounded by people who love you, ... That will all have a huge effect on your perception of how you look.

It also sounds like quite a few of us are having the same issue. Right now, I'm not particularly crazy about my dress. Hopefully, after the fittings, I'll love it again.

You should definitely delete the pictures so you don't look at them anymore.

Julz I felt the same way when I tried my dress on. I had cups originally and I felt that I looked like a boy. I searched for a corset instead and I felt mcuh better. U still have a bit of time if u want to experiment but personally I'm sure u looked great in your dress. Don't stress!

This is why I didn't bring a camera to my fitting. But I hate all pictures of me, but you don't seem to be like that, you have posted pictures og yourslef before.

Maybe it is the boobs. I can't imagine cups actually doing anything for me, I think they work better on smaller girls.

Somewhere I saw an extteme low back corset. it may not be too late, they may not even have to take the cups out, but a corset may help lift you up a little.

Do you know someone who will be completely honest with you? Can you show her the pics?

I knew I'd hate pictures of myself so I think I must look awful in my dress, but my mom always tells me I look like crap if I do, so I trust her, that I don't look quite as awful as I think I do.

Don't compare yourself with others...I am sure you looked better than they could even dream they did...we just are very good being critical of ourselves. I had the same thing happen today. I went to try on my dress and had my BM take digital pics and I hated them so much I deleted them (but yet this is the dress I know was 'made' for me too). I really don't think digital pics do much justice to anyone anyway. You were not made up or anything, so don't be sad. I am sure you looked beautiful!

You have to think of yourself on the day of the wedding-good hair and makeup and just the glow on your face. You are stressed-your wedding is in a few weeks. I can guarantee that you are going to look gorgeous. Please post some pics and stop looking at them

I know how you feel.. When I went for my first fitting, I LOVED my dress but HATED the way I looked in it.
You will feel differently when it fits perfect, and hair/makeup/veil are on. I am sure you look like a beautifal ! -Kelly

Oh! Do not be so hard on yourself!! You even say yourself that you loved it on you, in the mirror, etc. Well, that day that's all that's going to matter. Ray is going to see you the way you saw yourself last night (but even better since you'll be all done up and have that bridal glow) and so are all of your guests and they're going to think you are the most beautiful bride they've ever seen. Delete all the pictures and try and forget about it. Maybe you can go today and retry it on just to make yourself feel better but stop taking pictures in it!!!!

I feel a little better after a good nights sleep.

I am looking for a new tiara or hair pins today.
I might also get a few back-up necklaces,

And I am also going to look for a really low back bra or corset.

I am hoping that next week when the fittings are complete and with my choice of new accessories I will be happier.

Hey Julie! I am sure it looked great! Sometimes with bad lighting or even trying it on at a different time it can look so different. I always feel like I look fat in the pics of me and my dress (of course that happened with the first dress so so my mom said maybe it's not the dresses! ). But I know it will look beautiful! Post some of the pics; I am sure you are just imagining things!
