Re: The second runner up choice of hall for us would have been...

we didn't really have a second choice because we only looked at one hall.

I would have liked to look at Atlantica, but it was shot down before I could even really get my thoughts out on it.

My other choice would have been a huge tent wedding at my brother's house in westchester, but noone wanted to play with that idea either.

Re: The second runner up choice of hall for us would have been...

Inn at east wind. The day we had that really bad snow storm we had 2 appts. One with watermill and the second with east wind. watermill was open and willing to show us around. East wind cancelled our appt. I thought that said a lot. Obviously they didn't want our business.

Actually Chateau Lamer was first choice, but we couldn't afford it. The Huntington Town House was my last choice, and can u believe its the hall that we booked? I hope i'm not dissapointed.

The Riviera. Unfortunately the minimum was too high and to make it less they would have upped the per person charge

Majestic Gardens to our surprise. We actually loved the manager when we met him, and the price was in our range. We really liked it. But, I hate murals and the pink chairs irritated me.

Re: The second runner up choice of hall for us would have been...

We loved Areca in Plainview - in the Hamlet of Oyster Bay (I think). In hindsight it would have been too small and I prefer to be on the water, but we LOVED the cocktail hour room, ballroom, grounds, etc. Really gorgeous. Since then you now need to be a member and pay annual fees to even get to view the facility, but when we were looking we would have gotten a pretty good deal for it.

I also loved Bourne Mansion but more than we wanted to spend.

Lands End was great but we wouldn't be the only wedding that day and in November it would already be dark when our reception would begin. We definitely want some kind of light and sunset in the beginning. Captain Bill's Bayview House is perfect for us, and it's in my home town!

Re: The second runner up choice of hall for us would have been...

We actually went with our 3rd choice....due to financial reality!!!!!

Our 1st choice was the Floral Terrace

Our 2nd choice was the Milleridge Cottage

We loved both of those places, but with a guest list of 300 and both of them being almost double the cost, we went with the Huntington Townhouse.
