Re: Veils...

I know that I want a fingertip length veil. However, I need to ask a stupid question -- what is a blusher?

I wanted to wear something of hers. I remember when I was younger i asked if when my time came i could try on her wedding dress and she sobbed hysterically.. she thought it was such an honor.. so needless to say 1. this ghetto booty didnt fit in it, and 2. too much work would have to be done and im 'not allowed to touch it' as per my sister.. so rather than ruffle feathers Im just going to wear her veil in memory of her.

Great way to honor your mom. And it is a beautiful veil.

Haven't really thought about what I want yet. I am still unsure. Especially since I have not picked a dress yet.

Re: Veils...

A blusher is the piece of the veil that goes over your face. Tradition had it that you wore the blusher through out the ceremony until the groom lifted it off your face once the vows were said. Many still do this, and many have thier father (or whoever walks them down) lift the blusher off as they 'give you away.'

My veil is cathedral length AND finger tip. (it's all one veil with the cathedral piece being removable). I will remove the cathedral length after the Mass and pictures... want to wear a veil the whole day, but not trip on it either, hence why I have the fingertip too.

The cathedral/fingertip is a good idea!
