Hi tanned Latina here!! My pics are in my album....... Red lipstick is a no ...well not for the wedding. I like the trial you did with wo/ the red lipstick. you have great features and a makeup artis could play up your eyes (being that they are light and stand out). Go with warm/soft colors. I had two trials. The first the lady did mauves and pinks. it looked ok but not the look I loved. The second place I used for trial, I told her that I wanted bronzish colors. I was very happy. I did the trial at the salon for the wedding the lady came to my home. I was very pleased being that I am not the makeup type and not used to seeing myself with makeup.

Hmm people keep sayign red lipstick is a no-no for a weddign but WHY? People have yet to explain that...

I should probably reiterate we are NOT havign a fussy traditional wedding. My dress is traditional yes, but I am wearing bright red heels and they will show a bit because of the hem. My garter is red. My jewlery is traditional and my makeup will be pretty toned down save for the lipstick. ALl my girls are in redorange and pink. Linens are those colors. So are the arrangements. Its a very colorful wedding.

coudl totally understand i I did the traditional thing that red lipstick would be like AHEM! But are you guys giving me advice keeping my wedding in mind for context or are you just saying 'NO' because most people wouldn't do it?

It seems like you like the red ..so then you should go for the red lipstick. I just think that the other look wo/ the red lipstick gives u a softer look.

This is my favorite of all of your trials. It looks GREAT on you - your eyes look amazing, the blush is a perfect complement to your skintone and so is the lip color. I know you really like the red and whenever someone mentions liking something other than the red you keep coming back to it, so you should just go with that. What I would suggest is to do this exact makeup (below) but change the lip to the LIGHT RED that you used in Trial #1 - just to see. I personally did not like the deeper red lipstick with the dark eyes and heavy blush. It was overall too much. The usual rule of thumb is heavy lips, light everything else. Or heavy eyes, light everything else, etc. Trial #2 is pretty for going out at night in a fierce outfit. My personal opinion is that I think it's too much for an all day thing (regardless of you doing some non traditional wedding things).

So, my vote is for Trial 3 - it's perfect!!! Second vote would be for Trial 3's makeup but changing the lip to the light red color. If you do this, you might have to adjust the color of the blush, but don't change the eyes at all.

This was helpful! Thank you. I can totally understand people not liking the red shades, but if you tell me its a 'no-no,' that doesn't help me because red IS used in certain cultures for weddings; chinese and indian for example. Just not so prevalent in American cultures.

I totalyl appreciate the help but I just want to have backed up answers-like be blunt folks:smile: If I look like a whore with the red lips, lol feel free to say it. or if it looks off with my skin, so be it. Then I need to find a new shade. Im not attached to that particular shade of lipstick. But when people just say, 'eww red YUCK!' Im liek WTH? What is it about the red you don't like? Not for me or not for you?

Anyway, Ididnt like the second trial at all. LOL thats why I said I looked like a saloon girl. I liked the lipstick but I think its too orangey-might have to go with something deeper thats lighter at the same time-just a different undertone like the pics I posted of Eva Mendes. The whole look for that trial was UGH! Too much for me.

What I think i will do is the lighter red lips and then very neutral everywhere else as I said before, like in the third trial but lighter on the blush. I just dont look right in 'neutral' lip colors because they wash me out. The pink isnt bad in the last trial but in other photos I took the same day, it washes out as soon as it starts to fade.

I know from experience with my makeup that the deeper tones(orange and brozey reds and pinks) look much better on me. They are not neutrals for the average girl maybe, but for me they are. When the makeup girl at Sephora tried lighter colors, first thing she said was 'God you look like the dead walking!' LOL...

So far I agree with most people-lhink the last trial came out the best-used my everyday foundation instead of the one makeup artist suggested. Its Dior Airflash (airbrush can) and then Lorac bronzer in glow and bare escentuals blush in ..shoot forget what. I think the eyes are too frosty.. Are you sure they shouldn't be more matted? The eyes are hard because unless I use bronzes are dark browns they all blend into my skin.
