Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
i think you should go for it if you love it!it's not traditional--but who cares! if you're not looking for traditional, then it's perfect.
you WILL stand out no matter what. go for it!!
btw...will you wear a veil?

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
It's gorgeous...I'd personally make the front a little longer and maybe not have it so low cut in the front...you say you want to party and I wouldn't feel comfortable the way it is. Do what you want- It's your day!! I almost went non-traditional but agree that I didn't want to wear something like I always wear, much to FH disappointment.

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I love that idea. I do prefer Terri's dress a little over Hallie's.When I was trying to pick a dress people kept trying to put me in big gowns. While they were beautiful and looked good on me I just didn't feel comfortable. I know that people feel that it is the one day that they get to dress like princess, but we all have different visions of what that is. I think that you should try on different types of dresses, even if you don't think they are you. Sometimes you are surprised. In the end I got the dress that I felt represnted me the best. A lot of people thought that it wasn't really 'wedding like', but I was the one wearing it and I loved it. Do what you feel is best.

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I think Terri Hatcher dress would look better as a wedding dress. The other is really nice, but not for a wedding.

I think you should wear what will make you feel like a queen on your wedding day!
But, I actually like the Teri Hatcher dress better (also switched to ivory). There's something that seems more elegant about that dress than Halle's....
I definitely agree...

I am also of the mind that you can wear whatever you want, but keep these things in mind...
1) in a dress like that, you won't really stand out much from the crowd since it's basically a party dress (yes, from the front people will recognize you, BUT as the bride you should stand out from OUTER SPACE, and strangers and passersby should know who YOU are)
2) think about how you may feel/change in 20 or 30 years....you may see this as a missed opportunity to really play dress up. you could potentially wear the Halle dress to any formal function.
3) I agree with your mom- I think you should start out more traditional for all of the photo ops- ceremony, entrance, cake cutting- all that- THEN, when the party gets rolling, change into your party dress and do your thing.
Everything I was thinking, already typed out

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I think that dress is absolutely gorgeous!! I see it more for a destination wedding. I'm not sure if that's what you are doing. But either way, I think you should wear what you want. I like the idea of getting 2 dresses though... One for the church and one for the party... This way you will never have regrets later on about choosing the wrong dress.

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I think if you are happy with it, you should go for it. I love when brides do different things and think outside the box. And I'd rather wear something like that (provided it is made with quality fabric) than many of the traditional wedding gowns I've seen.Edited to add: PS I also like the Teri Hatcher dress better. If you are going to go non-traditional, there are soooo many awesome styles out there. Look around.

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
To be honest I think you should wear what will make YOU feel like a bride. I will tell you I tried on over 50 dresses until I found the one...don't settle for anything less. If you love it I say it's your wedding and you should wear what you want:) It's beautiful by the way!

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I love hallie's dress. I think if you love it & got that WOW feeling.. than that should answer it for you. I am not a fan of a huge puffy wedding gown.. and that is my opinion... there is no rule to choosing a dress... it is your day and you should wear what you will feel your best in.. and you shouldn't have any 2nd thoughts since that dress is beautiful!

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I really do not think it is so much of a bridal dress, however I do think it will look nice you will stand out and everyone will be talking about your dress!!!I know I wouldn't wear it to my wedding, maybe if you change a few things to make it more wedding like.
The train will definitely give that look but adding the gold in not sure if it will look great for a wedding. It might stand out too much.

Re: Wedding dress (Be Honest)
I think it would be a gorgeous dress to wear for your wedding! have you tried on a dress of a similiar style yet so you know how it looks on you? If you're worried about it not looking 'bridal' enough you can always add hair clips, a tiara (plus a veil of course) and a gorgeous necklace even though I'm sure everyone will know that you're the bride wearing such a beautiful gown!

I'm always of the opinion 'it's your day...wear what you want'. Bcuz your the one that's gonna have to live with yourself in the end!! If you can pull it off, then do whatever makes you happy girl!

it is not my style.. but I am not the one who has to wear it.. it is your day.. and you have to wear the dress of your dreams.. you only do this once.. so do it right..why settle on 2nd??
