Re: What made you pick your date?

Well I knew we would be on a tight budget to begin with and from reading some wedding books and mags. I had purchased I knew that offseason was from Nov - Feb.
We started dating in Feb, and got engaged in Feb. so I thought it would make our wedding anniversary easier for fh to remember

I originally wanted 2 other dates but one was our best mans bday and one was my moh's bday and I felt bad doing that. So when we went to the hall and decided to book it they showed us what they had available. The BM actually suggested feb 20th since the next day is presidents day and most people have off. We had thought about that but figured the halls knew it also and would still charge sat. price. Once she said no it would still be a sunday price, we booked!

Re: What made you pick your date?

I've always wanted a May or Sept/Oct wedding. May is a busy month..Mothers Day, My bday, and my parents anniversary all fall usually in the same weekend so May was pretty much out of the question (financially).
I chose October for the leaves!! I LOVE the fall, I love when the leaves change and my pics came out beautiful! The one thing we worried about was it being to dark for pics but we lucked out and didnt have to change clocks till the following weekend. Yes, it still gets darker earlier, but my photographer was fantastic and had all of our outdoor pics done early! We also had a sunday night wedding and I was afraid of a lot of 'no's' but I had many Yes's and we had a great time.

Re: What made you pick your date?

We also were set on having it on a sat night. My fh was actually adament about it. But then, the place that we fell in love with, only had fri in July open, and we could not be flexible on the month, so we booked it. We both liked the place so much that Fri was definetely an option!

Good Luck

Re: What made you pick your date?

We wanted September but not Labor day weekend. The place only had the 11th and 18th open and I really couldn't do it on 9/11.

Re: What made you pick your date?

FH always said the day he got married had to be the biggest party night of the year...

Thanksgiving Eve!

We end at 12:30 am so people can continue elsewhere if need be

On a serious note, I love Fall and I love Thanksgiving. Its just a feeling I can't explain about that time of the year.

Re: What made you pick your date?

we had originally choose 11/03/06. b/c we knew we wanted to wait 2 years, b/c of $$ reasons. but we changed it to aug 4, 2006 b/c....well there is no reason at all for the date. see what happened is, my sister is getting married next year, aug 5, and she told me that aug is not as expensive as i think it is. so i said ok, we will look into it. i told fh about it and he was not crazy about the idea. but when we went to our hall and we heard the price for august, we said 'sign us up.' we just chose the first friday in august.

Re: What made you pick your date?

We wanted a holiday weekend and originally wanted Labor day weekend, but believe it or not was booked every place we looked (almost 2 years in advance)! So, Columbus weekend was next in line. We wanted a sunday night with a holiday Monday.

Now I am so glad, because I decided to go with a fall theme!

Re: What made you pick your date?

It was pretty much the only sunday we could do it next year... FH has classes until the 3rd of August... and then I'll (hopefully) start new teacher training on the 16th or so (schools in this part of VA start a week or two earlier than those in NY)...

So August 7 it was!

And I also realized, because I'm a dork, that August 7th is one month before FH's birthday, while our dating anniversary (August 14) is one month before my birthday.

Yeah... I notice weird things like that...

Re: What made you pick your date?

FH and I started dating 9-12-97, so we considered 9-12-04, but did not want a Sunday. I definitely did not want 9-11-04. So, we went with 9-10-04, close enough to our 'dating' anniversary

Re: What made you pick your date?

For us it was sooooo easy!!!

We wanted a day wedding because we didn't not want our older relatives coming from Queens driving on the William Floyd at night!

Then when they showed us the calendar we both looked at the 26th and without previous discussion pointed to it. The reason:

DH's b-day is 2-26 so always use 26 as his lucky number and then later I found out he was born at 7:26AM.

So for us it was a no brainer!

I love the Fall...
Believe it or not many of my friends/relatives are off on Mondays, so we were very open to a Sunday wedding. The date worked out perfectly!

Re: What made you pick your date?

I just changed my date from Thanksgiving Eve to November 4th. It was just leaving the worst feeling in my stomach. I was too skeptical of that date and didn't feel like stressing myself out. So I paid the extra money so I can be a happier bride. Plus I was sick of rationalizing my prior date.
