What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

I'm having issues. Well, it's really my mom and my sister who are making it an issue and I guess they're right.

Our rehearsal at the church is 7:30. FH thought that was the best time because of the OOTers in the BP. He sees nothing wrong with eating after the rehearsal. My mom and my sister think that is WAY too late to eat - especially since they have to get back and get it ready. We probably wouldn't eat until 8:30 if we're lucky.

So....should I just expect my OOTers to get to my sister's house before the rehearsal for dinner? She even said it could be an open ended time...they get there when they get there to eat. Ugh I dunno....

What time is your dinner?

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

Heyyy Girlie!!!!!

Our's is at 7:30 too....We are doing it after...We can't do it before - Because it is during the week and a week before the wedding I don't want them to have to take off of work for the RD...

It is totally preference....If you and your FH think it's okay...Then it should be...

I know your mom and sister are trying to help you....But truly if you guys think it is okay then it should be....

BTW, where are you doing for your RD?

ETA: To answer your questions, we are going to schedule it for 8:30....

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

Good Morning Sunshine!

We're having it at my sister's- doing a bbq. Ugggh I dunno. The other thing they're concerned about - it's the night before the wedding so they think it shouldn't be a late night. Granted, my ceremony is at 3:30 the next day....

They do see it as being too late for everyone to eat....I don't even know if it's about them helping me, more about helping themselves. They're both so stressed out about this and I wanted it to be SIMPLE!

What are your plans?

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

Good morning ladies!!
My rehearsal is at 6:30 , so our dinner is at 7:30. I don't think your 7:30 rehersal is too late at all.
The only reason we booked 6:30 for the rehearsal is because all of our OOTers are coming on Thursday, so I was able to make it a little bit earlier!

Our rehearsal is at 4, dinner at 5.

I rather it be later, but that is the only time the VYC can do it-

Somehow it all works out....

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

Our rehearsal is 6:30pm and dinner is at 8. FMIL picked a restaurant thats half an hour away...but I didn't even try to argue the point because I wasn't expecting her to do it at all.

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

Our rehearsal at the church is at 7:30 on a Tuesday night. We booked the restaurant for 8:30 pm (it's about 10 mins from the church). I'm sure some people will leave the restaurant early because it's a weekday and that's okay.

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

I haven't set up my RD yet. I'm leaning towards also having it around 7ish too b/c everyone in my entire bridal party works on Friday and I have some out of town guests coming in that week, I'm trying to get them to arrive earlier that week instead of that day. But I can definitely see why having it earlier may be better. Are you having a morning or afternoon wedding? Would 6 or 6:30 be better? or even 5:30pm?

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

We just started this debate this week, (we didn't think we were gonna geta rehersal!) Our RH is in Smithtown and we were thinking about a resteraunt in W. Islip. And it is on a thursday! So when you think about all the people working OOT guests, stuff like that, it might be a late night for your guests with traveling, working. Maybe your sisters idea is not so bad. This is what I plan on doing: make a list (in importance) of who is coming and if they work or travel and what time they could possibly arrive. See how that goes, it might answer your question for you. GL

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

I am also doing my rehearsal the night before. We have to be at the church at 5:30 and then dinner at technically 7, but I told them we will probably be there at 6:30.

You should stick with what you want. People will be fine, how much is everyone going to sleep anyway- everyone is going to be so excited!

Good Morning Dear!!!!

Well everyone is going to have a long day the next day too....Maybe don't do like the Huge dinner with hot plates...Just something to feed their mouths..Maybe make it like a light dinner...Ya know what I mean???
I mean I can't see people staying until all hours...Your OOT guest will prob be tired from coming in anyway ya know? They are going to want a good nights rest too...IF you have it before you can do that...But where are they going to go when you need to leave to go to the rehersal?

If anything, my grandma used to take her vaccumm out when she wanted us to leave...

That is always an option...LOL
I am positive you can get it sqaured away ya know?

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?

We are having our rehearsal at 7pm and RD at 8pm. Our dinner is going to last 3 hours. So, we should be done around 11pm. Luckily, our RD is only 3 blocks from the Church and we are getting married at 6pm the following day! I don't think that having your rehearsal at 7:30pm is too late. Just do your rehearsal and have the bbq! I think it will be just fine!
