My father and I don't speak at all and he's not being invited. I asked my older brother to walk me. If not him it would have been my mother, godfather or grandfather. I liked the idea of walking myself, but my mother got upset about it, since I have so many people who love me and were around.

IMO your escort should be the person or people who were there and supported you. It's the person who means the most to you who (outside of FH) and helped you become the person you are(in the positive sense) and it's an honor not everyone can claim.

Both of my parents are walking me down the aisle. You have to choose who is right for you. If you want your brothers to walk you half way and your father to walk you the rest of the way, then do that. Even if it bothers your father a little, I am sure he understands why it is important for you to honor your brothers. Since he hasn't actually complained to you about it I think he is respecting your decision and you won't have to worry about drama.

My Dad is walking me down. We weren't always close, but at this time in my life, it's what I want as we're closer now.

I'm in a similiar situation...
My mom and step dad are walking me down the aisle. My father passed away when i was young and will be remembered in other ways at the ceremony. My stepfather has been in my life for the past 10 years and I would love for him to walk me down the aisle. Its all about how you feel and each relationship is different. Chose whoever you want...it's really special to walk a bride down the aisle. I'm sure whoever you ask will be honored.

I'm not that close with my dad but I'm having both him and my mom (whom I'm very close with) walk me down. My mom deserves the honor and I asked my dad bc I want him to, I know it's something that means a lot to him and I'm sure he's been waiting for this day to come since I was a lil girl. My parents are divorced but it makes me happy to think that on my wedding day they're going to do something together for me.
