Why did you pick your wedding date??

We got engaged in December. We needed a year to save $$, but didn't want a winter wedding b/c of possible bad weather. We also didn't want to wait until the summer, so we chose 3/30. It worked out good b/c we still got an off-season discount.

well.....my fh is hindu and traditionally there are a lot of ceremonial things that have to be done outside so it had to be in the summer....and then we had to wait for the religious calender to come out with the lagan (good luck) days. Then we just matched up the good luck days to what the hall had available and that was it. Looking back at it I also just realized 8/3 was the date I first told him i loved him..funny.

we found a RH we liked, and asked them what dates they had available in our budget..

We choose a winter date because it was cheaper! And when we visited Westbury Manor, they said they leave the Christmas decorations up until 1/5/08.

I LOVE the holiday season and would have preferred a date closer to Christmas, but my good friend was already getting married very close to Christmas (we have a lot of the same guests). So this was the next best option!

We wanted something in September because both our parents were married in September and its such a beautiful time of year. The 13th has always been LUCKY for my family. My father and sister were both born on the 13th so it just seemed perfect that the 13th fell on a Saturday and thats how we got our date!

our 7 year anniversary is july 1st. but since that was a weekday, we went with the friday before this way we could be on our honeymoon and celebrate our dating anniversary.

Well I wanted June 14th since that is our 5 year anniversary, but I'm a teacher so I wanted to wait until after the school year. July 4th is a holiday and FH's friend is getting married the 18th, so we picked the 11th.
