people are nosy, especially when it comes to $$$.

For example, my FMIL (who is a nice woman, we are not particularly close, but she never sticks here nose in where it doesn't belong) said, when finding out we are having a DJ instead of a band (they are not contributing any $$ to the wedding), that people are going to open their envelopes at the wedding and take out $$!!!!


I was like, are you crazy??? I don't care what people give me, as long as they come and have a good time - and I would never do that to anyone else-you give what you can give, thats that!!!!

OMG.... That is a good one!!!! I love the nerve of people critizing other people's event and they are not paying for it. Gosh, I'd better not hear any complains on my day. I spend money for their meal... so eat and enjoy! If not, leave!!

OMG, you brother and his girlfriend are unbelievable out of line! I could understand if they were engaged and looking at CH and said to you, 'we just checked out a few places that were around $$$-$$$, is that about right', but to ask how much you are paying, and for no reason, that is so rude to me!!

So i'm at my brother's house, and i can't quite remember how the conversation turned to my wedding...but it did. he then says 'So how much $$ are you paying per person?' so the conversation follows:

Me: 'Why do you want to know?'
Him: ' What's the big deal? just tell me how much $$ you are spending a person?'
Me: 'I don't really feel comfortable talking about it. '
[because i know he'll be a gossip and tell other friends & family, and it's just none of their business]
Him: ' Well i would think you would tell people to make sure that everyone gives enough to cover their plate'
Me: 'W T F? i am not having a wedding to make sure i get lots of $$. '
His GF: [whom i nicknamed- 'The Whore' can ya tell i don't like her much?] 'Like i thought that that's information you make sure EVERYONE knows, so like, they know they have to give a certain amount!'
Me: 'That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard...so if I tell you i'm paying $250 a head, you're gonna give me $500? YEAH RIGHT. and NO it's not something you do--you don't just go around telling all your guests how much you spent per person.'
The Whore: 'Oh, like I would do that...just so they know.'

I feel like I have this conversation daily with everyone! It's so rude and definitely tacky. I just tell everyone it's not important so dont worry about it. How rude!!!
