Re: Why Icelandic Children Love Getting Socks for Christmas.

excellent...
So far we have:
USUK2004 as Sausage Snatcher (Dirty!!)
Anniegrl as Stumpy
WC0143 as Doorway Sniffer
Tourist as Candle Beggar
FeliciaDA as Pot Scraper
Nov04LIbride as Gully Gawk
and me as Door Slammer

we still need a Meat Snatcher, Skyr Gobbler, Sheep-fold Sneaker, Ladle Licker, Bowl Licker and a Window Peeper.

Then we just need some children to terrorize!

Hmmmm...I'm wondering if you should be Doorway Sniffer instead of Wendy, Liz. After all, you were the one (along with my good friend Sammy) trying to find the dead thing in the wall...

Re: Why Icelandic Children Love Getting Socks for Christmas.

Nov04...here's a little background and a super fun picture!

Giljagaur or Gully Gawk (13th Dec.) is the second Yule Lad to make his journey down from the mountains, skulking in and about the deep ravines and gullies. Upon coming to a farm, he slinks into the animal shed to lie in wait for a chance to skim the creamy froth off the milk pail

mmmmmm....creamy froth....

PIE!
by the way Liz, my husband brought home pudding last night! mmmmmmmmmm pudding!

I found a picture simply my googling candle beggar. IT was the first link- complete with story. don't think I would have found it unless you told me about it though.

I don't frequently peruse Icelandic tourism websites.
