I found a picture simply my googling candle beggar. IT was the first link- complete with story. don't think I would have found it unless you told me about it though.

I don't frequently peruse Icelandic tourism websites.

Stiff Legs, (Sheep-Cop-Clod): He loves to suck milk from the sheep, but his stiff legs make that very difficult.

Gully Gawk, (Gully Guy): Has a taste for the froth on the milk and keeps close to the cows.

Shorty: Small and nimble and smacks his lips over the leftovers in the cooking pans, especially if they are burnt.

Ladle Licker, (Fence-Post-Pal): So thin he resembles the ladles which he licks the food from.

Pot Scraper: Snatches the unwashed pots from the kitchen and scrapes the insides with his fingers and tongue and leaves them quite clean.

Bowl Licker: Very cunningly finds bowls that have been left unattended and finishes all food from them.

Door Slammer: Gets his kicks from slamming doors, using every chance to disturb peoples sleep.

Curd Glutton (Skyr Gobbler): The dairy product is his favorite and if stored in closed containers he simply breaks through the lid with his fist.

Sausage Snatcher, (Sausage Swiper): Very nimble when it comes to climbing up into the rafters where the sausages are hung to smoke.

Window Peeper, (Peeping Tom): Flattens his nose against every window to glimpse something to steal.

Sniffer: Has a very big nose and sniffes out his favorite food, fried bread, wherever it is being made.

Meat Hook: Has a long pole with a hook on the end to put down the chimneys and into the meat hung on the rafters.

Candle Beggar: Loves tallowcandles and can't make up his mind whether to eat them or watch their lovely light.

Chocolate for me, vanilla for him. Swiss Miss. They wer eout of Kozy shack whihc is my favorite, altohugh he thinks it is ghetto.

when I find my kitchenIwill make me some warm MyT Fine chocolate pudding.

Stumpy is the same as Shorty (there are variations on all the names). Whatsamatta Anniegrl? you don't like scraping scorched leftovers out of pans??
