Do you bustle before or after your 1st dance?

I was actually thinking I may want to bustle after my 1st dance so that it would look pretty in pics and on video.

Do brides typically bustle after the first dance?

That's what I did, but don't forget that it will hinder your dancing. We knew we weren't going to do any elaborate dances anyway so I left it unbustled.

ETA: Typically though you get bustled before the first dance.

I bustled right after the ceremony! I didn't have a long train but I just wanted to be able to move comfortably

I'll probably bustle before so I can walk out during the announcement and boogie a little before the first dance which I also want to have some decent movement during!

Thanks. That's a good point you raise about being able to dance while the dress is unbustled. I doubt we'll do anything elaborate...FH doesnt want to!! lol

I bustled before the CH - we went to CH and I didn't want to deal with holding my dress or having someone step on it.

I am planning on having it bustled before I walk into the reception hall for 2 reasons. 1) I don't want to have to hold it up while I am dancing. 2) I don't want to have to leave in the middle of the party/food course to go upstairs to have it bustled.

I bustled my dress before the first dance. I did not want to risk having DH step on it.

I didn't have a long train at all but I bustled before the first dance. I wouldn't have been able to dance without the bustle...

It def depends on the dress and how many points you have. Mine was only about 7 and the bridal attendant and my sister did them in about 5 minutes.

I haven't gotten my dress yet. So I guess it's gonna depend on how functional my dress is. If it's not hard to bustle I'm thinking I'm gonna end up bustling it for cocktail hour, the unbustle for 1st dance and then bustling after the first dance.

I had a cathedral train.......there was no way I was dancing with that, lol. I bustled before our grand entrance.

i'll probably bustle it right before CH. definitely don't want people stepping on it.

My dress was HUGE so after the ceremony and cocktail hr I had it bustled. It took 2 people and about 5 minutes.

My bustle was only down the entire day during ceremony.
