Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

...your hair looks beautiful!!!! Do you have a pic of the trial so we can compare it????

1. I regret going with my florist...I should have switched when I went to see my sample, which was nothing like what I asked for. Although I loved my boq and my sponsor's boq I'm sure another cheaper florist would have done a better job with my idea....they added way too much Green and for the amt of money they charged totally not worth it!!!! They even misplaced my petal cones and gave me a complete heart attack the DAY of the wedding!!!!

2. The Crescent Beach Club's table chart was completely inaccurate!!!!! I wish I was more persistent on seeing the hall during another wedding setup (we tried 2-3 times and they kept saying no) b/c everyone including ourselves were really annoyed since the most important people at the wedding were sitting in a CORNER. i hate the people at CBC. I can't wait to review them!

3. Again, my BM at CBC was horrendous. I wish I complained or something. I had one sip of an alcoholic beverage ALL NIGHT. I thought they were supposed to provide you with a fresh drink at your table at all times....nope didn't happen. Instead they took away the one drink I had on the table and didn't replace it with anything!

4. People kept coming up to talk to us while we were trying to eat and of course I only had ONE BITE of my meal. They were nice enough to pack my meal but DH threw it outtttt b/c he said there wasn't enough room in the car....WHATTTTTTTTTT????? ugh...so i didn't try the food at my wedding other than the CH.

5. I would have insisted that my guests stayed in LI. It bugs me that people came from Greece for the entire month and I only saw them the day of the wedding b/c someone who I will not name decided to make them book hotels in the city!!!!!!!!!! totally rude and selfish!!!! what goes around comes around though

6. I wish I double checked my secretary's placecards. Although my secretary was kind enough to do the placecards for me as a favor, she missed at least 5 people that I know of....ugh! Of course, for some reason 2 of those people were in my reception somehow before I even saw the room looking for their cards ...great going Crescent beach club!!!!! I was so upset that guests were upstairs when they should have been at cocktail hour!

7. I wish I called Joe from Camelot limos when I went into my limo and it was a sauna. Biggest waste of $550. I went to the church sweating...my DAD actually said to me....everything was perfect at your wedding, but your limo was horrible!!!!! great to have a sweaty brides family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although the driver was hysterical and was awesome, the car was horrendous and not air conditioned.

My list is very long but it's this long b/c I seriously did not let any of these things ruin my day so I kept my mouth shut and smiled b/c I was happy to marry my best friend!!!! I put everything aside and of course the list came about during the honeymoon lol

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

honestly I have a few...
1. I wish my dress was taken in more in the bust...I had told them It was fine..but wedding day..it kept bunching up and I had to actually keep pulling it up and in some pics you can see it

2. I wish I didn't have a car accident 3 days before (I know this is really wishful thinking and unrealistic) but I spent the week of my wedding upset and stressed..mainly stressed because I broke out all over my face, and had airbag burns..I would do anything to have my skin perfect on my wedding day

3. My hair also! Don't get me wrong..I loved what Jen did..but my hair also looked a little different than my trial..I wish my curls were a little tighter..she kept pulling them out to get more body..they had all fallen out by the end of the night

4. Get my puppy in pics..we left her in a shelter day of..and unfortunately I have no pics with her

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

Can't get over my friend from college said he was coming, then didn't show up without any explanation. Granted he was coming from out of state, I would've understood if something came up last minute as a few people had to cancel from far away too, but I waited and waited for months hoping he'd email me an apology why he didn't make it. I never heard from him, I don't get it, I didn't even need to invite him we hadn't hung out in years, but he insisted once I got engaged 'you better invite me to your wedding' and kept saying for a year 'can't wait to go'.

I know he's not dead, I saw he's logged onto his myspace. Seriously makes me mad he did that to me.

Another thing I can't get over was how few people came to our church ceremony...we go to a big church, had I known only 40 or 50 people were gonna show up, I would've had it at a small chapel. All our church photos look like no one was there, just the first few rows. Makes me so irritated...ok my vent is over.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

I wasn't too happy with my bo-k and it arrived before my wedding planner so I just didn't want to deal with it. I should have had her get it fixed but I was so emotional, I knew I would have been upset and nothing was going to stand in the way of my happiness that day!

The DJ played the wrong version of our wedding song. It was this magic moment by the drifters, which we told him 2 Billion Times...He was either brain dead or not listening.

Our church ran a wedding factory on the day of...it was ridiculous. Twenty minutes after my wedding I had to be out. Receiving Line and all... Because of it, I got VERY few church pix and my limo driver, photograher and everyone else was in a big hurry to leave, even though I watned to take pictures outside. Honestly, I have cried myself to sleep over it since I got back from my honeymoon.

I haven't got my proofs back yet, so I am praying that they came out OK. The Beach was COVERED in Seaweed and with hardly any church pix, what I was looking for isn't possible. Plus with all the chaos, all the must takes went out the window. If I didn't say it, I didn't get it (PS--it wasn't my photographers fault at all, there was just mayheim.)

I loved my wedding day and couldn't have been happier even with all the wrong turns! But Lord knows I am scheduling Day after Pix!

2. Thanks to the LIE traffic, we were very late!!

3. Photography problem

4. My bustle wasn't done right

5. Didnt get to eat at the CH

6. I wanted to throw one GM into the lake b/c he was the biggest pain in the a$$!! Who wears sunglasses right before you enter the ceremony?!

7. The 2 shuttles NEVER showed up at the hotel to take our OOT to the RH!!!! Luckily we had someone there with a car.

8. The Rabbi never said 'you may kiss the bride'

9. The GM stood in front of people instead of to the side

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

By the way you looked fine, but I know what you mean, I was the same way. My 1 year anniversary was last week and there are things that I still can't get over. The first few months I was just like you.

1) My tiara was crooked and none of the BMs told me.

2) My face shined and my MOH didn't bother to tell me.

3) My priest screwed up the entire ceremony
1st-he allowed a prayer service to take place before my wedding (even though he said that he wouldn't) and would not allow anyone in the church until 3 on the dot. (the time my wedding was supposed to start)
2nd -There was a 5 x 10 foot movie projector screen right of the altar that is visible in pics.

4) My limo horns didn't blow when leaving the church. I looked forward to that all my life.

5) Flowers-biggest one, The vendor that I had all the confidence in let me down. I can't say the name. MY BK died and they screwed up the CP's and just about everthing else flower related (bouts, bows on pews).

6) My brother-he walked me down the aisle. I should have gone w/what I wanted to do and walk down alone. My brother (who is 47 and single) had no interest in my wedding and it was a chore for him)

7) My uncle who lives w/my brother was a no show and my brother knew a week before and never told me. Also, my brothers best friend and his wife were no shows and after the wedding I emailed my brother 2 weeks later and he claimed he never heard from his friends (yeah right) and 1 year later my brother never said anything. My brother is very well off and should've reimbursed me for his white trash friends not showing up.

8) The cake was wrong.
9) The video guy was an idiot and his big light was in everyone's face.

10) When I looked at RH pics all I saw on the table was glasses. I felt that they didn't clear off the empty glasses quick enough.

Overall it was still an amazing day and I'm so happy that I married a wonderful man. Also, yes, I am over these things and no longer dwell on them like I did the 1st few months, but I'll never forget them.

But, yes, the things that went wrong stay w/you for awhile.

BTW-Congrats to you and DH and best wishes

I am SHOCKED at your CBC complaints! They impressed me with just how attentive and accommodating they were. They made SURE we got to experience everything.... food, dancing, etc. I enjoyed my wedding more than I expected to and I have them to thank. I guess there are just some people who can't be happy.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

I wish we got a second photographer. I am very happy with the pictures of me and DH but I feel like so many shots were missed, and with all of the money spent, I think a second photographer would have been well worth it.

I also am still upset about some of the things that went wrong, but with time the frustration and sadness has lessened.

In the end, a lot of important things that came very close to being horrendous mishaps worked themselves out, and those are more important to me than 99% of the things that went wrong.

Edit: but, the more time passes and the more I think about it, the more angry and annoyed I am at the vendor that totally screwed up and screwed us over in many ways.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

we are very lucky - we did not have any issues on the wedding day that were negative. all of our vendors did exactly what we wanted them to - in fact, pretty much all of them exceeded our expectations. i mean, we had small things like my veil getting caught in the limo door and the string quartet playing the wrong song in one spot but nothing anyone noticed and really, if that was the worst thing that happened - we consider ourselves VERY fortunate. we are thankful and appreciative of it too. i must have said 500 times how thankful i was, on the day, to have nice weather and to have everything go so well. i am so lucky to be able to say i literally had the absolute best day of my life, had the time of my life and was completely calm and cool as a cucumber the entire day - which helped me really, truly take it all in and enjoy it. it didn't 'whiz' by like i had feared it might -- like so many people said it sometimes does -- instead, it kind of just flowed by and felt like a dream. DH was the same way - had the time of his LIFE. i'm so glad we did things our way and went out of our way to attend our entire CH, eat our FACES off lol - we ate everything!, we made sure to do the rec'vng line so to get the greetings out of the way - and we danced to E V E R Y song - i mean, every single song - we did not stop dancing the entire night. i think i had like three pieces of cake - and the chocolate fountain - AND all of my appetizer and meal i laughed and relaxed and enjoyed every moment of that day. i'm so very lucky to be able to say that - and that made all the hard work i did so worth it.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who had issues the day of their wedding! Not that I'm glad there are things that went wrong on your wedding days, I wish they were perfect for all of you. Here's things I can't get over:

1) my videography co. screwing up and relayed the wrong info to my videographer and he came late. As a result, there is no video of me getting ready.

2) Running so late! We hardly got any shots with the BP and we had to miss our CH to take pictures, I never even got to see the room set up. My MOH says I never got a picture alone with her but I'm hoping she just doesn't remember. How can they not get a shot without the MOH? I also missed a lot of pics I really wanted because we were running so late

3) one of my photographers showing up an hour late. He was supposed to meet with DH and the GM and he just didn't show up

4) My dad being so ridiculously drunk he couldn't do the first dance but we did it anyway and the whole dance was me yelling at him because he couldn't even hold himself up he was so drunk.

5) I seriously disliked my BA. She was great for drinks and food but thank god I hired a DOC because this BA would have no clue how to bustle my dress or loosen it when I couldn't breathe.

6) One of my BM's camera's was stolen, what a horrible feeling. This is now how she'll remember my wedding, the wedding where someone stole her camera.

7) We hardly got to dance! Because I ran so late we took pictures during CH and greeted our guests at the reception and DH talks so much that the greetings took much longer than they should have. We only got to dance to 3 or 4 songs.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?

wow.. I have many....

1. My florist.... They were 1 hr late delivering the flowers.. that time went into the time I set aside for formals so we waisted an hr. My & BM bouqets were smaller than promised. They used the incorrect fabrics to wrap all of our bouquets (I searched all over the city for fabric to match my shoes)
2. My photographer... No variety in pics..Pretty much took the same pic 10x, they are all the same. Missed MANY details & special moments. They prmoised me certain things & then took it back (my fault for not getting it in writing) & have found them to be dishonest at times. Slow/ late in giving us our proofs & albums & have been getting the run around.
3. DJ... played fast songs during dinner & the slow songs during dance time.
4. RH... I was promised a certain bridal suite & then 2 dys before the wedding told me I couldn't have it because it was going to be used by someone else. The bridal attendant was annoying..stepped on my veil tearing it out of my hair several times. She was constantly trying to hold my bouquet..(umm, it was my wedding & I wanted to carry my own flowers) They didn't est enough chairs at my parent's table so my parents didn't have seats at the begining of the wedding. I had to ask the matre'd to get them chairs. We felt that towards the end my guests we being forced out.. the AC was clearly turned off & was getting warm in the ballroom & we saw them setting up for the next wedding's CH because they left the doors open while they set up the flowers... not cool.

I want to add my friends.... NO ONE told me to re-apply my make up so I look ugly & washed out in my pics from the end of the night.

maybe you guys had different maitre'd which would make a big difference. YOu said they made sure you experienced everything, but if she had a different maitre'd then its possible that he just wasnt as attentive.

I honestly think that if i had a different maitre'd at my RH, it might've been a bit different. Mine did things for me that i dont think others would've, i had a request that i know JT doesnt often do, its something they dont like to do actually. I asked maitre'd ahead of time and you can see his hesitation a bit but he said he will do it if its what i really want, i think somebody else would've just told me no lol

Thanks Denise! I just saw this...

People have different experiences everywhere.....even if it is the 4 seasons! The blanket comment you made about not being happy was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. believe me, i can be happy if they did their jobs right hhahahah I am not lying when I tell you that I had one sip of a drink all night and that was it from alcohol.....looking back I wish I went to the bar to get my own drink to embarrass them! Also, the people at my head tables had to go to bar to get their own drinks when 'uncle bill' PROMISED AND INSISTED that when their drinks were just 1/4 empty the waiters will replace the drinks automatically. I even made a point at the last meeting to make sure to tell him I want that to happen b/'c that is what the North Ritz Club does and it made such a good impression on me at my best friend's wedding. DH's uncle told me that he went to the bartender to go get a drink the 1st time and gave a $10 tip, then when the waiter came he gave him another $10 tip and then finally after that he was getting drinks at the table. If Bill never promised, I would have thought it was not common practice for CBC b/c I know we tip at other halls to get the service.....bill made the impression that this was not necessary......it was a reason we were paying what we did. That was seriously just one of the many things that went wrong....but i'll save it for my official review when I have time to go pick up my pro pics from the photographer.

It was all because of how unorganized everything was in the morning!!

4. It was very hot in my RH and when my dad asked them to lower the ac they kind of had an attitude about it!!

5. My photographer didn't get a picture of my dad and I coming out of the rolls and I got it only for pictures so I was pissed!!

None of this matters now..all little things

Jessie! I totally here you about the hair!..mine was perfect right after she did it..but by the end of the night it looked so messy..all because of humidity
