I still cant get over that my gay friends stormed out because my father is a HOMOPHOBE. I just cant get over the fact that he couldnt put his pride to the side on a day that was supposed to be MY day. An unselfish person would have bit their tongue no matter what happened just so they wouldnt cause trouble and try to ruin a perfect day. I also wish they would have at least tried to keep it a secret from me until after the wedding.
wow he said something to them?
Yeah, He told them they cant show affection and its inappropriate and they were making everyone uncomfortable. For him to say that was out of line. They were MY friends and I invited them. They shouldnt have felt like they couldnt show affection at a wedding. Some of my family members really disappointed me acting like we were back in the 20's or something. It just made me realize how selfish people can be and even at a wedding, they make it about themselves somehow. I think about what happened a lot and hate that I have to associate that with my wedding day. I even started crying at the dais. It was awkward.
wow it ***** your friends had to go through that when they were there to share in your day and have a good time.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?
I have two. The main one is our DJ forgot to have my dad give a toast. We didn't even realize it till the next day when my dad read it to DH and I. Thinking about it now I want to cry. I should have realized it. And now I dont have that on video. it kinda makes me sick now that I dont have that. It was an honest mistake and had I noticed, it wouldnt have been an issue. I just got so wrapped up in the hecticness of the wedding that i didn't think about it.Another thing is we forgot to request a portrait be taken of me in the same way my grandmas was taken- so to show off my dress and because it was her dress.

I agree. Im mad that they stormed out the way they did. if it happened to me I would have snuck out quietly and then addressed it another day. Oh well. I have to learn to let it go someday

I should have worn a cathedral length veil-the pics look so good with one!I should have also put duct tape over my BIL/BM's mouth so he wouldn't have made such an appalling speech!

Awww that was an honest mistake. You were probably so caught up during your day you didnt even realize. And why dont you put the dress on again and have a portrait taken anyway! You can still do it. I know its not the same as on your wedding day but it would be cool to show your children one day!

Well my dad apologized during our father/daughter dance which ****** also cause now all I can think of is my dad apologizing. And I never brought it up to my friends because I felt embarassed enough that they were made to feel like outcasts.

ya but it wasn't you who said that too them. So why punish you for it? But I understand it is a touchy subject and not one you want to relive or make them relive by bringing it up. But if you did, Im sure you could say it tactfully. incase it is something erally still bothering you or makes you feel differently about them.

Youre absolutely right. I hate that I feel responsible for something my father did. After the wedding I saw my friends a few times and they seemed like they felt really bad how things went down too. It was just awkward for everyone. At least when my sister gets married next year she knows not to sit anyone of the 'gays' near our father

I would say a few portrait shots with my MO and DH's Best Man. We do not have any. Also I wanted a few shots with my sisters and brother and the same for d's sisters. It got a little hectic while taking pies that we skipped these shots somehow. I don't publicly advertise it to them because they may feel bad as well.
I have the same issue.
Also I would have made sure that I didn't lose anymore weight b/c my dress was falling off and every five minutes I was pulling it up. So...some photos have my bra showing and I think that someone out there may have gotten photos of more than just cleavage
Maybe I should have added straps like the Salon told me to.
ETA
I would have gotten to hall earlier so I could have made sure they had our ceremony outside like I had always dreamed of. It was supposed to rain so they did indoor ceremony and I didn't know it until I was ready to walk in and they told me it was an indoor ceremony.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?
I'm very annoyed that our photographer pulled us outside during the reception for pictures after we had already taken pictures before the wedding. We were away from the party for over a half an hour. I kept telling him I wanted to get back inside but he would say '2 more seconds' or 'One more shot'. He said the pictures he took before the wedding weren't that good because the sun was too bright. I was very pissed. We purposely took pictures before the ceremony so we could be at the reception for the whole time.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?
I wish I had worn a BRA! LOLI didn't find one that would work well with my dress and my seamtress was supposed to sew cups in....I'm pretty certain they weren't in there. Also the straps weren't tight enough, so they were falling down (so annoying). My BM's had pinned them before the ceremony, but by the reception the pins busted and straps were falling down. I look at pics and feel like my chest was hanging out....luckily I don't have a big bust or there would have been trouble!

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?
I think mine are minor but they bother me nontheless and I should probably get over it sometime soon....I did a lot of DIY projects but I regret not doing menus bec. everyone's came out so beautifully here and I wanted that extra personal touch (RH puts 2 menus on every table in little stands but it wasn't the same...)...also I wanted to do our engagement photos for our table numbers and I just didn't have time to get that done-we did a photo of a shell instead, still nice but not 'perfect.' I also regret not having pics taken with my aunts and uncle, and I have no pro pics of the food. I have no idea what some of the stations looked like at CH
And lastly, I wanted my cats to be at my wedding but I had no idea how to accomplish that gracefully

Yes, I am still mad almost a year later how Flower Michele handled my wedding and how they treated me afterwards. They lied and said 'a refund of some sort was in the mail'.Never received a thing. I still ***** and moan about that. My DH thinks I should get over it.

Re: Anyone else have wedding day 'issues' they can't get over?
I agree about not getting all the picutures I would have wanted. i should have made a list like everyone said, but i didntI wanted a pic of my flowers with the wedding invitation and i would have liked some pictures of our 2 1/2 year old son by himself and not just group shots
Plus the photographer took like 8 pictures of my friend and her FH and 2 with her family. *** i thought it was my wedding. I found that kind of annoying
i better stop or the crazy bride inside me might return
