My beautiful 9/3/10 Wedding, Get Hitched On The House, WCC, Hidden Essence, East Coast Limo, Madison Avenue Photogrpahy, and so much more!!!!

Let me start off by saying my wedding never would have been possible without PartyFM. DH and I won season 2 of 'Get HItched On The House'. So with that said.....

Party FM A+
DH and I were high school sweethearts and dating for about 7 years when the contest began. We always knew we wanted to get married but couldn't afford to do it for about 2 years after we got engaged. We figured, what do we have to lose. Well who would have believed, we actually won!!! In our winninngs we got:
-Venue paid for up to 150 people (and cake!)
-Free portraits and an awesome deal on photography
-DJ
-Limos
-Money towards flowers and an addition cake.
-6 month gym membership with 6 personal training sessions
-Tanning
-Teeth whitening
-Hair
-Make-up

and even more....

Now many of these vendors, ended up refusing to give us our winnings, but that was not the radio stations fault. So I still give them an A+


The Dress..Oleg Cassini by David's Bridal- A++++

I LOVED my dress, and got so many compliments on it. It was pretty huge and heavy but totally worth it. DH kept stepping on it all day but I still feel it was perfect for me. Davids Bridal in Lake Grove was fine. No problems!



The Veil, Atitias Flea Market A+
I dont have a close up but the veil was very pretty. It had pearls and crystals on the edge. I had a pearl theme so it was perfect!


The Shoes, Estelle's A-
While I loved these shoes, they sure did hurt my feet!


Bridal Jewelry, Etsy seller firstfan A+++
Again, I had a pearl theme and these matched my ivory dress perfectly!



The Invitations, E v e n s t a r p a p e r i e. c o m A++++++++++++++++++++++
OMG, is all I have to say. I went alittle crazy with the invites, thanks to my parents for paying half. Not only were these the invites on my dreams but T e s s a was absolutely amazing. Her work is unbelievable and she was such a pleasure to work with. People were constantly asking where I got them from. Couldnt have asked for anything better!! They were pocketfolds, which you can't see in this pic.


Hair, Renaissance Salon A+++++++++++
My mom, sister, cousin, and I all got our hair done there. Every single one of us was so happy ! They did such an beautiful job and even had mimosa's ready for us!


Make-up, Makeup by Lo A++++
No matter what pics I put up, they will not do her justice. I did not feel like a bride until Linda did my makeup. As soon as she was done and I saw myself, that is when I felt like I was truely a bride. Her works was fabulous and she even came to the salon to make things easier for us. My mom, sister and I all got done and it was beautiful.


Bridesmaid Dresses, Dessy 2749 Bridal Suite of Centereach, A+
I found these dresses online and even without seeing them knew they were the ones. I called around to see who would give us the cheapest price and Bridal Suite of Centereach was it! These dresses were great for everybody type and looked stunning on the girls.


Tuxedos, Mens Warehouse A+
I got really lucky bc Mens Warehouse had vests and ties to match the girls dresses perfectly!


The Rings, Atitas Flea Market A+
Totally negociated with them for an awesome price! And I am in lov ewith my ring.



Woodbury Country Club, A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
WCC was one of the vendors that donated their services. My parents figured since we won it, they would give us the bare minimum. NOPE. They went above and beyond anything I ever could have imagined. After we won we went to show our parents around, expecting nothing but a tour. Well we got to our room and they had all the coctail food and VH food set up. We were sooo impressed! I knew from there on it would be perfect.

Our banquet manager was Jeff. No matter what time of day I emailed me, he got back to me within minutes!! And no matter what question I had, he always knew the answer. He was so knowledgeable and professional. Throughout then entire planning process, Jeff was my anchor. I really couldnt have asked for a better BM.

The day of the wedding as soon as I got out of the limo, I was greeted by my Bridal Attendant, Francia. I really thought I wouldnt need a BA but she was there for me for anything I needed. Not only that she was the sweetest person! She was so helpful, I was just so impressed.

Our Maitre'd was good. I dont remember her name bc I really had Francia but the BM made sure everything was going smoothly. It was way too hot in the reception so we asked them to check the AC. When it didnt get cooled, she actually had someone get on the roof and make sure it was ok!

Now for the FOOD. People are still raving about the food. We didnt eat much (I was squeezed way too tight into my dress LOL) but from what I had, it was delish!!

The grounds were stunning and beautifully kept. There was another wedding going on but I never would have known. They keep it completely seperate and make sure to stagger times.







The Flowers, Hidden Essence A+++++++++++++++++++++++
UGHH MY FAVORITE PART!!!! I was completely in love with my flowers!!! I won money towards flowers from another place which refused to give me them (Jennifer Flowers, who gets a big fat F) and met with many florists. All of them quoting ridiculous prices. Michelle at Hidden Essence quotes us HALF of the others. And not only were the prices outstanding but her work was flawless!! OMg I get so happy thinking about the flowers. I was very clear in that I didnt want greens and I never thought anyone could pull that off. Well Michelle did and they were GORGEOUS.


DJ, MC Productions Dj's and Entertainment D
The Dj was another one on the vendors we won in the contest. While I trusted and liked the DJ at our initial meetings, he was late for both of them. Didnt bother me too much then but looking back it was NOT professional (He lived not even 5 minutes away) Anyways I still trusted him, didnt give him songs to play bc he his CD of music was good so I gave him free range. Anyways the day of the wedding he came into the bridal suite to confirm everything. We decided to change the entrance names from the groomsmen's real names to their nicknames. We went over it acouple of time and he even read it back to us.
NOW for the part that RUINED MY NIGHT.

As we are standing in line to get announced I hear DH and I's entrance song playing but my 2 MOH and Best Men were still not called. Turns out he completely forgot to call them! Started anouncing us until my DOC ran out to tell him. A few days later I watched the video and realized EVEN MORE MISTAKES.

He did fine with the first 3 couples, then got to the last couple (before the MOHs and Best Men) and announced them as follows 'And now our maid of honor (didnt say her name at all and she wasnt even the maid of honor) being escorted by Brian (He name is Ryan). And then what I typed above happens. And on the tape you see my DOC run to him and actually hear him say 'OH' on the mic (for everyone to hear)when she told him. Then he messes up one of the Best Men's name!!

I was soo upset because I had always envisioned our entrance. We had a funny song that completely fit our personality and it wasn't even played for us the way it should of.

NOW HERES MORE. When it got to the time of the speeches, the Best Man VB (Yup just 2 letters, very simple) was getting announced. The Dj was standing by us so I can see him in clear view. He starts to announce him saying it wrong again!! SO I start yelling V B, V B, V B!! Then I hear him going 'Where's KIm' (repeating it looking around for her) my MOH also doing a speech. Well he never announced her! So I telling him, You didnt announce her yet!! How is she supposed to know to come up if you havent announced her!

And not to mention we did upgrade and pay him a decent amount so its not like it was free and that makes it okay.

I can't write anymore about it, it's actually upsettingt me so much.

So let move on....

The Limos, East Coast Limo B+
Again this was one of the vendors we won. They provided us with two 6 passengers. We upgrade to an Escalade and Hummer. I really liked them but the reason I gave them a B+ was because of the woman I dealt with while planning. Right after we won we went there to look and get prices. She said it was too early to book and to come back closer to the wedding. When we went back she tried charging us about $600 more than the first quote. I almost started crying that day bc I kne we didnt have the extra money, Anyways we worked it out for close to the original price. So I was happy. Sorry I don't have many pics.



The Cake, WCC A
Anyways we originally won a cake and again the people stopped answering my emails and only offered me a horrible 80's cake even though my gift certificate said 'cake of choice, that was L'esti's Dessert Big Fat F!!!)

But luckily we already got a cake from WCC. I am not sure of the bakery because we just picked a standard cake when meeting with WCC. It was delish, the only reason I gave them an A was because they added the bows without telling me. They didnt bother me, but what if they did? But either way it was a cute cake!


Photographer, Madison Ave. B+
Madison Ave also was part of the contest. They gave us free portraits and a good deal on a package. I gave my photographer a print out of the Must Have Pics. They did get all of them. I really liked most of the pics they did. The reason I gave them a B+ was because I felt their work wasn't as modern as some other Photographers I have seen. But they were very good and super easy to work with!



DOC, Francesca Dazzling Affairs A+++
Francesca was great. I mean if it wasn't for her, the entrance really would have been ruined. But besides that, she was there for everything. I got chocolate all over my dress (while taking a picture feeding each other chocolate covered strawberries) and she got it out! I was hysterical and she literally made it better, If it wasn't for her, I would have been covered in chocolate all night! She kept everythnig running smoothly and made sure everyone was doing what they were supposd to. Thank god for her!


So I know there's so much more to write about but its been 3 hours and its 11 at night so this is all i'll be writing. I hope this helps you girls still planning!!

i am so happy for you guys that you won something so big as your wedding! i'm sad that you didn't get everything that was promised to you but it looks like you all had an amazing time! if there is anyway to get a couple of dollars back for your dj, i would look into it and i would fe leave a complaint with the BBB.
