AGH...I cannot believe you leave in 18 days....so exciting!!!!!!!!!
But also VERY exciting that your big wedding day is so near!!!
Hey Jess do you plan to head to Bloody Mary's for dinner while on Bora Bora? If you do and if you happen to remember....would you mind asking for me (I tried emailing the restaurant and it won't go thru) if they really are closed for the entire month of December. I arrive in Bora Bora for 5 nights on Nov. 30th....so if they do shut down for all of Dec. I'm wondering/hoping I can go my first night there (I do assume if they say they are closed for all of Dec. that they would be open last day in Nov...???). I would so appreciate it...thanks!!!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Sorry if I am boring the girls who are NOT staying at the IC Thalasso...I know I keep posting about it but it's just that I am so excited to finally start seeing reviews online for it since it is so brand spanking new....Someone posted this on the message board on tripadvisor...there's no an actual review in the review section...so I am just copying and pasting so you can read...sounds like they loved every minute there!
'Just came back from IC Thalasso-what a beautiful place!!! I am jealous to all who are going soon!!! I read on this site that some people were switching to other hotels because they heard that this hotel wasn't really done yet-well I am glad I didn't switch-my gut told me not to -one of the nicest bungalows on Bora Bora. First off, the service was impeccable-not one thing to complain about-esp. since I went during 'soft opening'. I couldn't believe how professional and welcome my husband and I felt. From management down the line, all employess were great!!! No one could be more pleasant!! Everyone greets you in passing. Our boat transfer from Air Tahiti was very smooth-An IC rep came to greet us with flower lei and took us to the hotel-boat ride was nice-about 15 minutes. She gave us cookies and bottled water-very nice way to start off...Took pics of us. When we made it to the dock at the hotel, 4 people were waiting to greet us- We had a pic of us taken by an employee that later on will give to you. Check in was so smooth-they sit you down to fill out paperwork witha cold drink and a chocolate dessert-was it good!!!
-the bungalows are amazing-the pics online do not do them justice!!! We stayed in a diamond OTW bungalow-they are gorgeous -what awesome decorating!!
The hotel itself was amazing-I have nothing bad to say about it-the spa is not done yet but they have bungalows if you want a day in the spa. tennis courts are not complete as well as wedding chapel. Al these were not important to me anyway....
The food was great as well, esp. at dinnertime. Definitely pricey......
FYI-if you have the MAP meal plan-the allowance on the dinner is 6970XPF. Roughly 70.00 pp allowance;anything over you must add on to your room charge.
Drinks......if you plan on drinking a lot -bring a lot of money. I got 2 banana daquaris and it cost me 27.00 approximately. Water is approx 4.00/bottle.
Lunch was great-very good menu choice/decent pricing---approx 30-40.00 total for lunch with no drinks.
They spared nothing on the amenities.....
Bathroom amenities-awesome-came with shaver kit-razor and shaving cream, vanity kit-nail file, makeup sponge and q tips, dental kit-toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc. There is also a hairdryer which is not attached to the wall. There are also 2 big blue spa towels for you to use when you suntan/swim by your bungalow. Attached to the wall is a shaver/makeup mirror which comes in handy.
In the living room there is an expresso maker, hot water pitcher, 4 kinds of tea, wine with 2 glasses, mini bar etc.
The glass coffee table top slides to the side so you can feed the fish if you want with a light for nighttime.
In the walk in closet there is an umbrella, shoe horn, shoe shining mitt, iron/ironing board. They even have plastic rain jackets for you !!
D id I mention at night the turndown service leaves you cookies??
Pool is very nice and not deep-I did not spend much time here as I stayed by my bungalow most of the time-comfortable lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas.
They offer kayaks, snorkeling equipment, etc with many other excursions to plan for a charge-jet skis, parasailing, boat rides, ....there are too many to name.
Overall-it was a dream trip for me. To all the guests I spoke to, all loved the hotel and esp. the service....it will be very hard to top this place!!!'

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Hi all!.... I was wondering if anyone was bringing any bottles of alcohol with them, since they all seem to be so expensive? Is that allowed? Can we purchase inthe airport? I am getting so excited!.... I have not heard a negative review so far.... the only thing my TA told me was that the Pearl in Moorea, the garden bungelo with the pool was not as private as the pictures looked, and the water could be chilly.... but we are still staying there... how often do you get the chance to stay in a hotel with a private pool? Thanks!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Hi...FH and I are not the hugest drinkers...we are big beer drinkers and that's about it. So bringing bottles of vodka really won't do much for us. But I've read a ton of reviews and people say yes to buy some liquor in the duty free shops and bring them with you...get juice to add to the liquor at a market once you get to FP.They are supposed to be making the walls around the garden bungalows with pools at Moorea Pearl a little higher to ensure more privacy...that's what I've read but I haven't heard them actually starting to work on it...so I won't get my hopes up. I'm staying in that room too...looks nice and wanted to save a little on Moorea so I could do the OWB for more nights in Bora Bora.
There are several reviews of Bora Bora Thalasso on Trip Advisor now...here is the link:

Hey girls! There is a new camera out by Olympus called the Stylus 720 and it can go underwater (without a casing) and is shock proof! FH and I are getting it for the honeymoon... it's 7 megapixel and it's really tiny. I thought it was perfect for a tahiti HM since we'll be in the water A LOT. Here's a pic and the link...

The company I work for now is relocating to PA so my last day is friday since i'm not moving with them! They told us of the move over 2 years ago (in March of 2004) and I just can't believe it's here already!!! It's going to be really sad on friday, but i'll get to see some coworkers at the wedding.
I'm going to start looking for a new job when we get back from the HM... I get severance pay till mid august so I can enjoy the summer off.
