Re: Greek Brides Thread
Hi Everyone.I'm new here. My fiance and I are Syrian Orthodox and we want to get married at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Merrick.
Any of you get married at St. Demetrios Church in Merrick or know someone who has? We are not members of the church so they told us it costs $900 to use the church and another $250 to have someone there (we're getting married next Labor Day). Is this how much it is or am I being taken for a ride?
Can anyone help?????
TIA

Re: Greek Brides Thread
Hi everyone! Someone mentioned to me to post on this thread, as I inquired about the Greek Islands for my honeymoon. If anyone could you provide any kind of costing or hotel information, I would really appreciate any info. I'm just trying to gauge where I should be on this!I was hoping to go to Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens.
Any info would be so helpful! Thank you!

Re: Greek Brides Thread
Sunshine 06,I suggest asking how much it is to become a member. Annual membership at my church in West Babylon (St. Nicholas Shrine) is only $300. It might be worth it for you and your fiance to become members rather than pay the $900 rental cost. There are other fees such as the psalti and organist. I wonder if those were included in the $900 you were quoted.

Please do not go to Helen Chiasson on the day of your wedding. She does do great work but you will be late for your own wedding. She is ALWAYS Running late. I have been late to so many events and my friend was almost late for her Engagement Party.
