I have a question after reading some of the other posts on this website....Did anyone get a food tasting? or were you even offered a food tasting? It wasn't even something I thought of at the time because so many people told me the food was great. Should I ask for one? Also, are most of you getting the 1/3 off price for feeding vendors? I am sure that is something we all get but they make it seem like they are throwing that in, hehe. And is that for ALL vendors or just house vendors?

Also, any good recommendations for a photographer? I have heard good things about Duet and I went for an appointment and liked them but I wanted to look a little more too.


I heard that you can go to the rest and maybe get a comp meal? They have showcases with a mock cocktail hour but one just occurred so I don't know when the next one is.

I have the 1/3 off too but I'm going to talk to my BM after reading that a few got 1/2 off! IT applies to all vendors-not just house.

Duet seems to be great-they were my second runner-up! Their packages can't be beat at their quality level- that's for SURE! Style, well, that's subjective. Everyone on here seems to love them and they are willing to bargain. I'm probably going to go with Grey Studios in Floral Park. Their prices aren't anywhere near as good but their work has a greater impact for me. (tho I'm sooo tempted by Duet!)

Look around. I only looked at Sherwood Triart out of the house rec photographers and they do good work but I actually think that Grey is a little better (IMHO) and has better prices. Check the BBB too- I was surprised at the number of problems listed on the BBB site for Cassarino. I understand one issue but not 5! That's my hardest decision! Good luck!

It depends on the time of year you are getting married. Check with your banquet manager.

I think some hotels comp you a room if you have a lot of OOT guests. I don't know if they comp a suite tho...

Check with the Farifield Inn by Marriot that's on 25 just a mile or so west of FH. Their rooms are small but they have a suite or 2 and they are renovating.
