Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

hi ladies!!

i have to start my review soon and post it..but wanted to write a quick note..that fox hollow was so so wonderful!!! Our bridal attendent, renee, was such a sweetheart and every single time i turned around she had a new drink for us or was bringing us trays of food...it all went perfectly.

One thing we did which i am SO GLAD WE DID was that my new husband and i took 20 minutes at the beginning of our cocktail hour and just sat in the bridal suite by ourselves and they brought trays of food to us so we could sample it all. It was so nice for us to be alone, taking it all in and enjoying some food before venturing out to the cocktail hour. It was good we did, b/c we talked to family the whole time and the hour was over before we knew it.

The reception was great as well...not one complaint. My grandparents surprised us by hiring the NYC emerald society to come in and play the bagpipes for a few songs. It was incredible. They put my all italian husband in an irish cap and had the two of us do an irish waltz..truly the highlight of the night.

anyway i am rambling. I am just so excited for all of you who have weddings coming up. You will love every minute and don't worry a second about FH. They exceeded every last expectation.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

On the hotel note I highly recommend the Wingate in Garden City from my experience so far...they aren't as close to FH as I would have liked tho.

The rate we got is 149 for reg room- we blocked 10 and what isn't booked is released a month before the wedding. We booked the large bridal sweet for both nights and the small one with french doors for just FH and I the night of.

I'm staying with all of my BM night before and they aren't charging them- the room sleeps 6 and they will bring in cots. They are bringing in food in the morning and extra tables for the hair and makeup people.

When we leave they are going to set it up for my after party too. We may arrange for a few 14 pass. vans up after the wedding through them b/c it's cheeper than the limo company and then no one has to worry about driving!

They are sooo nice and the rooms are clean b/c the hotel is pretty new. Sorry to ramble but this was a diff thing to find so I want to pass this on...

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Ok so it took me WAY to long to finally find this thread!! I haven't gotten my review up jus yet (getting the proofs Sat ) but I wanted to say that EVERYTHING went perfectly!!

I had some bumps along the way with Fox Hollow but the days leading up to the wedding & the day itself went flawlessly! The cake was great & they did an amazing job, Sam the Maitre'D treated all of us like royalty & the guests raved about the food

Happy Planning!!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I have a question for FH Brides that had their reception in the Winter Garden Room AND used chair covers - what size are the chairs? The wrought-iron ones? I don't know which chair cover size would fit.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Can anyone tell me if FH will charge me tax and gratuity on the ceremony fee?? Plus tax and gratutity is written under the price per person but not anywhere near where it says the ceremony fee.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I think I am going to book the Fox Hollow on Saturday for 10/28/06. After hearing all the great reviews, I am bought. I loved it from the second I walked in, but I am just very indecisive.

How many people are in the Briar Fox room?

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

For those of you married already....did you use the menus that Fox Hollow made for you. I am kind of a craft nut and wanted to make my own, but I didn't even mention it yet. Do you think they would let me?

I don't know why I am asking yet, I haven't even booked the place, hehe.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I had 140 in the Briar Fox. And I agree, Sam was wonderful!
The max is 180.

Our CH was in the Winter Garden Pavillion...I love that space!

I loved my Fox Hollow wedding!! Would definitely recommend it

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I wish we could use the Winter Garden room!! It's my favorite! My wedding is too large for it tho! If they would let us have the cermony there it'd be perfect!

I agree that the Briar Fox room holds about 180- I don't know if that's max or the comfortable number. (my room's max is 300 but they'll be squished if we have that many!)
