the worst wedding favor..

well i thought it might be nice to share some of our thoughts bout the worst wedding favors we received or wedding favors we received but didn' really appreciate.....

disclaimer: not done to make anyone feel bad.. but to be helpful to us all as we make decisions on wht to use as favors so that we're not wasting money..

i'll start!!

i got a mug.. that said L & J's wedding.. it was nice. i think my friend said she paid bout $5-8 a piece for them..white with that gold trim round the top that gets super hot ni the microwave so u can't drink whatever is in it for 20 minutes after u take it out or u'll burn u'r lips...

yeah.. so i put this mug on my baker rack in my kitchen.. it was there for bout 3 months.. when i thought to myself.. why ON EARTH am i keeping this? i'm not gonna drink out of it.. it's not a heirloom.. it's not of high importance... oh it's got to go!! lol.. and out it went..

so i'm opposed to mugs..

2. i got some coasters.. they're glass and they say love.. and i LOVE them. I actually use them on my glass table and they look great..

so i think coasters are cool.

Re: the worst wedding favor..

I agree coasters are wonderful.

My unlinked wedding favor is wine glasses decorated with beeds and silk flowers. The glue comes off and they dont stick. You cannot wash or use them because of the flowers, They look nice at first but they are not practical.

However, someone posted some painted wine glasses the other day and they were gorgeous. I would put those type on display. They were wonderful

Re: the worst wedding favor..

i got coaster to that says love. I saved them for when we get a coffee table I am sure we will use them.

I got a single candle in a votive, the votive was silk screened and everything. It was cute, but what do I do with 1 single votive ?

Re: the worst wedding favor..

Last year I went to a wedding that had these huge marble salt and pepper shakers as favors. . .those were probably the worst I have ever gotten. To be honest, i don't even know what happened to them, oops!

Re: the worst wedding favor..

be careful girls, for example there are girls on here who are doing mugs as favors. I see the point of this thread and understand just some people might get hurt by what is said.

Also what one person loves as a favor another hates or doesn't have use for.

I love edible favors. I dont know im weird though i am one of those ppl who get excited about little things others dont. Ive gone to weddings or other occasions and when alot of ppl made negative comments regarding the favor, i loved them.

BTW-most cups you shouldn't put in the microwave, and believe it or not the good ones are the ones you use can't put it...for example any type of china with the gold or silver lining you can't put bc of the metal substance in it. I can't use ANY of my dishes to put in the microwave. I either put them in a container or i have ONE plate i can use and then after put it on a regular plate

Re: the worst wedding favor..

I just want to tell you girls about a GREAT favor my parents got recently.

They went to a coworker of my fathers daughters wedding. Throughout the night, the photographer went around and got a pic of every couple there. (I'm not sure what he did with singles). Then, when they left, there was a table with their pic in a beautiful frame, and that was their favor! I thought it was a great idea. FH thought it was too intrusive, though.

ETA: It was the coworkers daughter, not the coworker himself.

Re: the worst wedding favor..

I dont think anyone is meaning to hurt anyone here that might be doing a favor we may not like.

Really if they love it then thats what matters.

Im doing little wine rings inside the name tag crackers and I know that not everyone will like them but i love them.

we are also doing a wine stopper as the give away.

Honestly, I wouldnt care if someone mentioned either of them on here.
