Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I loooooooooove makeup and the whole shebang, so i figured that it would be good to talk about this at a time in our lives where we really want to look our best! So, I'll start us off...
I use almond oil on my body after my shower to keep my skin from drying out during the winter months and to have a silky look during the summer.
Apply foundation with a concealer brush-i covers better.
Smile when applying blush-you'll hit the apples of your cheaks and it looks fresher.
Brush your lips every couple of days and your lipstick will adhere nicer. Also, apply sparingly some lipbalm before lipstick. none at all and your lips will dry out, too much and your lipstick will slide off.
okay, i can't remember any more but i am anxious to learn from all you ladies!!!

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I use everyday the MUDD 5 minute facial Masque

After washing it off with cool water, I rub a little noxzema on my face

Whenever I go out in the sun I always put on sunblock on my tattoo's

If I tweeze my eyebrows I do it immediately after showering or apply a hot washcloth to loosen hair follicles.

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

Slather yourself in vaseline and lay in a warm bath for about half an hour. Just towel dry when you get out and shower the next morning. It's like you have new skin !!!!

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I love any moisturizer with Shea Butter, especially in the winter. My skin gets PAINFULLY dry and this stuff really helps to heal it.

Favorites:
Lay It On Thick, Bath and Body Works Spa collection
Nut Body Butter, The Body Shop

I love this stuff!!! You think your face is soooo clean, and then you put this stuff on, and by the next morning, all the yucky stuff is at the surface! It causes me to break-out for a day or two, but I feel like my skin is super-clean afterwards.

Also - I always, always carry around a small bottle of hand lotion in my purse/briefcase/school bag. My hands get so dry this time of year it's gross!!

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I just started using cold cream again at night (when I remember) and then I slather on some stuff- I think its Mary Kay- it looks and feels like pink vasoline. Its a night ellolient - I have no idea if I spelled that right.

In the AM I wash with those Olay cloths. I use a moisturizer every morning.

Oh, I also put that night ellolient stuff on my hands at night. It feels pretty gross but it makes your skin feel wonderful!

Um- I thats all I can think of right now.

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I swear by Ole' Fashioned Baby Oil. I put that all over when I get out of the shower, and then I put Curel lotion on my legs and arms because those are especially dry areas.

I wear children's sunblock in the summertime.

I have oily skin, so I try not to pick thick creamy moisturizers. I use Lancome skin care and makeup, and usually go with a Serum for my face.

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I make sure to moisturize after the shower and anytime I wash my face... otherwise my skin gets realy dry... before applying eye shadow I make sure to brush some powder over my lids (I feel it makes the eyeshadow apply nicer)... I always apply chapstick to my lips before applying a lip gloss or anthing like that... I shave towards the end of my showers (this way the warm water loosens up the hair folicles)...cuticle creame is a MUST in the winter months (sally Hansen makes a cuticle cream stick thingy and it's great)...before applying mascara I make sure to kind of wipe my eyelashes ( I know this sounds weird but after I put on moisturizer to my face I want to make sure there isn't any on my lashes)... all in all I don't wear makeup very often... I give myself no time in the morning to get ready so I am lucky if I put some eye shadow on. But its' always good tohave beaty tips for the nights you want to get all dolled up...

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I do home microdemobrasion. I can't afford to do it in a spa, and it's working wonderfully! Epidermix is the product.

www.greatnewskin.com

It really makes my skin soft and my forehead wrinkles (that no one sees but me) have gone down!

I wash my face with Olay Foaming face wash and mosturize with Olay lotion with full spectrum sunscreen, spf 15 - VERY important, everyday.

I use a yellow concealer for my dark spots and go over that with foundation. It really works for me.

Noxema. Yep, every day.

Other than that...

I have no beauty secrets! I need some! I have to quit looking at these threads with the pics of all the beautiful brides...

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I'm gonna bold this:

SUNSCREEN! EVERYDAY! ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE FAIR!

Sun damage happens in the winter as well as the summer. It happens whenever you're exposed to sunlight - even in a car. Get a mostuizer with FULL SPECTRUM sunscreen - an ounce of prevention, etc. etc. UVA/UVB rays - it has to say it covers both. If it just says SPF 15 but not UVA/UVB, don't get it.

Minimum SPF 15.

Getting off my soapbox now.

Re: Let's Talk About Beauty Secrets!!!

I am also a big fan for sunscreen in your moisturizer. I use Oilay and love it. I also use ROC eyetreatment that I put on in the am and pm--you can get it at any drugstore, a little expensive ($17.00) but I think it is worth it to help around the eyes with fine lines.

Also, I also apply vaseline to my feet in the winter before I put my socks on. You would not believe the difference it makes.

Also, I use Cetephil to remove my makeup.

I love Trish McEnvoy makeup products--her lipsticks are great.

I love Lancome mascara-absolutely the best.
