Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

i've been trying to lose weight all olong, working out a couple of times a week, trying to watch what i eat.....but it wasn't really working because i wasn't really really serious about it - so recently, once i realized that my wedding is less than 2 months away - i decided to cut out dessert....and so far this week, it seems to be working. i haven't eaten dessert all week and i've been losing weight!

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I just got serious last month, with four months to go I've been doing south beach. So far I've lost 12 lbs, but I haven't been exercising...so I would be doing better if I were. I've got to get moving!!!

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

If you are trying to lose weight, you need to do cardio at least 4 times a week. I'd also recommend using some weights.

Eat healthy and cut your carbs. Don't cut them out completely, you need the energy to work out!

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

Weight Watchers. I have lost 25 pounds in about 4 months. It has been so easy and does not affect my life too much. I don't really feel like I am on a diet. Now I just need to get to the gym!

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I started Atkins in July by October I lost 23 lbs. Since Thanksgiving I've been allowing myself to eat whatever carbs I want but in much smaller doses than I once did. I've kept off the 23lbs and have actually lost 3.5 more.

No exercise.

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I was an Atkins flop (lost 8 lbs only to put it right back on!) So I'm now following Weight Watchers again ... not even strictly, and already I've lost about 6 pounds in 2 weeks.

Hitting the gym a lot more too, though...that's definitely helping

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I have another question, what do you do when you lose your motivation? I have been on weight watchers since last January. I lost 47 pounds. I gained 10 over the holidays and have about 2 left to take off but, I lost my motivation. I just keep gravitating towards bad stuff. I only have 3 months left and I want to lose some more. Any suggestions?

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I'm doing the Special K diet, one bowl for breakfast, one bowl for lunch with skim milk and a healthy dinner. I'm cutting out desserts and starting to exercise again.

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I've just started watching WHAT I eat a little more.

Im going to start a journal of what Im eating.

I've replaced my 4 o'clock bag of doritos with a half bag of animal cookies. Even then I only eat them once a week now. I wont allow myself anymore.

I have avoided all fried items. Im trying to drink more water but frankly I can't stand it. Instead Im just cutting back on coke and drinking juices instead (white cranberry, white cranberry/strawberry or white cranberry/peach) I've picked up yogurt as my treat now instead of pumpkin pie. (heh) I'm just trying to eat BETTER.

I have physical therapy twice a week which includes stretching, weights or strength excercies and ALWAYS includes 20mins on a bike or ecliptic machine. I think that's enough work out for anyone!!!

Haven't lost a pound in the last 2 weeks. I weighed in at 142 3 weeks ago, Last week I was 137 same for this week. I don't need to lose a LOT of weight (id be happy at 130) but I DEFINATEY don't need to gain any weight.

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

Yea you can lose weight but isn't it about toning up and not having high body % fat!

I would rather be 120 and TIGHT then 100 and flabby!

I train 4-5 times a week and eat what I want

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

Oh and for motivation..

I think of my dress.. i tried it on after it came in and it was nice and well fit. not too snug and not loose. I had to come into it from the bottom up because the waist is smaller than my hip.

I keep that image of me struggling to attempt to pull it over my hips and being forced to give up. Everytime I get hungry I think about my dress. Flabby arms and and rolls of fat at my mid section. Yes, Im cruel to myself, but I do eat, just wiser now.

Re: How did you lose weight for the big day (if you did that is)

I am also trying to watch what I eat and going for a walk each morning. I am probably the worst at motivation and will power!

I really don't need to lose much weight, I just want to tone up.

Weight Watchers!!! I lost 65 pounds in 2 years, and I think it really teaches you how to eat. I still want to lose more, but when I look at myself in my gown I am so excited!
