Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????

I am reading "The Lovely Bones" after putting it off for so long. (thought it might be too morbid). It is pretty good so far.

I just finished "Secret life of Bees" and, prior to that, "In her shoes" LOVED them both!

I'm going to try to find a copy of "My sister's keeper" today.

Finished "My sister's keeper" yesterday. One of the saddest and best written books I've ever read. I started "The Lovely Bones" last night but was still so upset over "sister's keeper" I couldn't get into another book.

Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????

eirann-
I read all 3 on your list - as well as many of the others people are reading.

Bonesetter's Daughter was so good - it was a little hard for me to get into at first, but turned out to be such a GREAT read.

Quentin's was awesome - Maeve Binchy spins such good tales - true sign of a true irish lass!!

Secret Life of Bees - not one of my favorites. I just could not really get into it. I read it the week before my wedding - yes almost 2 years ago - I got sick and needed something to pass the time. Maybe that's why I didn't like it so much.

I haven't made it through the whole thread yet but here's what I'm reading: The Red Tent and The Virgin's Lover - by the woman who wrote The Other Bolyn Girl which was AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I also HIGHLY recommend just about anything by Jodi Picoult - The Pact - a little sad, but good; Perfect Match was really good, Tales of a Humpback Whale (read on the plane back from my honeymoon) good; she writes very well - very odd stories, a little disturbing to think that people come up with these things, but good stories.

For you non-fiction readers Random Family was quite an eye-opener and very interesting.

I've actually read this book twice in my life. I still remember stuff about the book. A lot of times I read things, and years later, I can't remember how the plot went.

I just finished Harlan Coben's "No Second Chance" - it was awesome! He is a new author to me - DH's friend recommended him and gave me the book - awesome suspense novelist! I'm definitely going to look for other books of his now.

Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????

I just finished "the Pact" by Jodi Picoult in 24 hours. What an amazing book! I'm afraid I'm going to have some nightmares tonight. But I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who hasn't read it. I enjoyed it much more than "my sister's keeper" although I didn't cry quite as hysterically.

Tomorrow I'm starting "the plain truth."

I'm reading Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. I love all of her Stephanie Plum books, and can't wait to see if this one can live up to them.
