No pics but mine is a 2 tier (top tier 24" and 2nd tier 45") and the 2nd tier has 35 scattered crystals on it. I had it done that way so when the top one is over my face, the pictures dont show the little dots.

That's very clever! I'll have to remember that

Thank you. Yet another great idea "stolen" from someone on LIW

I don't have a pic but my veil is to the middle of my back. Plain. White.....thats about it haha

My tiarra has crystals and pearls....the pearls match my dress to a tee.

Well, from mt description you can barely get a vague picture haha....I'll just have to take a pic when my dress gets delivered in November and post it.

Yes, that I have.

Divabride - go to Sew Deb's Website and contact her. She's great, I've been doing everything over email. I'm just trying to determine whether I want ivory or cream tulle. Either way, for what I'm getting, it'll all cost about $100 including shipping, etc. It's $28GBP/meter of silk tulle and she's charging me $40 for the labor.

FM if you want more info.

Diva:
Bethsiar posted a great way to do it -- FM her, she is totally helpful -- she actually got it for like $25 from the UK and had it made here, cheaper than tulle.

With Bethsiar's recommedation, I actually ordered the silk tulle from the same place she order hers, Hansson Silks. The total cost of one metre (just under a yard) of the fabric, which is more than enough for a 2-tier fingertip veil, was $56. It is really really hard to find this material in the US and most bridal stores that have them most likely imported the material as well...which is part of the reason the price gets to be so high. I definitely recommend getting the fabric and having someone make it for you. It's so much more cost effective. Also, once you order it, the fabric arrives within 3-4 days. Not bad.

Sewdeb actually works with Hansson's Fabrics. You can just order the fabric (or tell Sewdeb how much to order) and have them ship it to Sewdeb directly. I was going to do this as well but my aunt offered to make it for me. Good luck!!!

Absolutely!!! I had them ship it directly to me and then brought it to my aunt. OMG, the fabric is so gorgeous. I cried when my aunt took it out of the packaging.

I included the link to the website before but here it is again Hansson Silks Website

Thank you guys!!!! Now I have one more important question. Please feel free to call me a moron, because I am.......but how much should I order if I want a cathedral length. Also since its so long, how long should the blusher be? My aunt in central america has offered to make it for me, but she said the fabric runs very expensive there and that I was better off buying it here. Again, thanks a million girls!!!

Do you want 2-tier plus the blusher? I would say somewhere around 3 metres (the british measurement). Even though I didn't use her to make my veil, I did e-mail SewDeb for advice. She was very helpful as I didn't know anything thing about ordering material either.

Sewdeb had me measure from where I want the veil to start to where I want it to end. She then did the meters conversion for me (which was much appreciated). Bethsiar (from whom I got SewDeb's info) had a cathedral length veil, she might have a better idea of how many meters you'll need. But either way, SewDeb will help - she's really great!!

One additional point -- keep in mind if you are planning on a headpiece or tiara, that rwquires an extra bit of room that needs to be measured for. Same if you are wearing your hair up -- just an FYI that I hear a lot of brides forget from my seamstress.

No problem! I am happy to help. The tulle from Hanssons comes 70" wide. One metre of the tulle is about 39" long. I only ordered the one metre and am getting 2 tiers out of it when I originally thought it would only be enough for one. I think we are actually reversing it though, using the 70" for length and the 39" for width.

Bethsiar's veil was cathedral and she told me she ordered 3 or 4 metres. After seeing the fabric in person, I am tending to think it was only 3. Definitely send SewDeb an e-mail. She is great to work with, even if you aren't buying anything from her.

All I know is that I want a Cathedral veil. I'm thinking about a Mantilla one, but the one my designer makes is about $800. UGGH. I really love it though. I'm hoping that I can take a picture of my dress to Barrons and they make me one.

That is a rip! There are alot of great online stores that will sell you a cathedral length mantilla for more than half that price.

I totally agree, that's why I'm not ordering it through them. The veil for $800 is a Mantilla veil with beading on it to match my dress. But, I was hoping I can get someone to make it for me. I want to wear a blusher though. Has anyone seen this before with a mantilla, or will it look weird.

Oh, I definetly want to be a veil bride. I can show off my hair any other time.

I don't have one yeat either. I was contemplating not getting one since my dress is so detailed. But if I do it will be fingertip length. I haven't decided about a blusher yet either. I hate things in my face.
