Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Have you ever been a bridesmaid?2. What's the most money you've ever spent on a dress?
3. Has this affected how much you want your girls to spend? (i.e. - such high priced dresses makes you want to search for lower priced for your girls!)

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. I've been a bridesmaid twice, will be a bridesmaid on June 25th and MOH for SFP0214 on July 1st.2. Right now, the highest is 250 plus alterations, tax, and extra charges.
3. Absolutely. When the time comes and I choose Bmaids and choose a dress, I want it to be as cheap as humanly possible. Annoys me how expensive these dresses get (not you, sfp0214 if you are trolling - she is the only exception).

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1) I have been a BM once & a MOH once. I will be a BM again this August in one of my sorority sister's wedding2) Probably mid-$200's
3) I would try not to go over the most I have spent. I have heard people who spent over $400...now that is crazy!
But remember you can not please everyone...NO MATTER what you decide to do.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1- I was a BM once, my brother's wedding Feb 03 & now I will be a MOH in Kiddo115 on 7/3/06!2- Luckily I have only spent about $200 with alterations
3- This truthfully affected what I looked at for my girls...I have girls from all financial standpoints in my wedding & I didn't want them to have to overspend on this one day! Luckily the dresses we ordered we reasonably priced & everyone was happy!

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. I was a bridesmaid at my brother's wedding May 2002.2. I believe the dress was $150.00
3.It made me want to NOT have a dress copied by a seamstress which is what happened for my brother's wedding and order directly from the designer. We may have saved money but that dress was awful.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Yes for one of my bf's in october of 2003. and i am going to be in one in sep 05.2. The most current dress was like 175$ but i totally dont mind both of the bridal parties i was in were fabulous dresses and both of my friends happen to pick black so i lucked out.
3. I dont know how it is going to affect the girls dresses. If i fall in love with something over priced i may pitch in a few $$$. but i dont think this will happen.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. I've been a BM in 3 weddings.2. The most expensive was $200 plus alterations and they charged me extra because they insisted I needed a large size. Then after 2 altarations, the dress was still so big it fell off!! (it was strapless)
3. I'm looking at the most reasonable dresses possible. I dont' want my friends & family to feel any financial burdens whatsoever.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Yes, once2. It was about $175
3. Yes, it definitely affects what I'm having my girls pay. It's a big financial responsibility to be in a BP (dress, shoes, hair, travel for my out-of-state girls, etc). I made sure that the dress I found was beautiful AND cheap.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
I've never been a BM! I am the MOH for my best friend, but her wedding is after mine.I've spent $175 on formal dress in the past, and I've worn it several times since then.
I want my BMs to get a dress they will wear again and is comfortable. Thats one of the reasons I want a black or dark navy as their colors.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Have you ever been a bridesmaid? Yes2. What's the most money you've ever spent on a dress? $280 Vera Wang-I was the MOH for my sisters wedding. It was also the 1st one I was in so It didnt bother me. Now I have 3 more to go!
3. Has this affected how much you want your girls to spend? (i.e. - such high priced dresses makes you want to search for lower priced for your girls!)
I wouldnt say the dress they choose made me search for lower prices...it whats come with the responsibility of a BM. I have spent SO much money because of my extra kindness and pick up for the ones who dont bother.
I just want my BM's to wear something nice and inexpensive and not have to shell out $$$ to make me happy. Im happy just having them there for my special day!

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Yes, FOUR times! And I have two MOH stints between this and next year! I think I'm going to start being not so nice to people, maybe then I can just be a spectator!2. For my cousin's wedding in 99, I was her MOH. Our dresses ended up being 350! It was a nice dress, but come on! We could have easily spent less!
3. I definitely don't want my BP to have to spend alot on dresses! But I also don't want them to look cheap. I've had some luck so far...

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. I was a bridesmaid once.2. The dress was about $150, I think. Alterations were $60.
3. I definitely do not want my BM's to spend a lot of money on a dress. The dress may have been only $150, but with all the other things I had to do/buy I spent about $1000. Thats a lot to ask of your friends!

1. Yes in my cousins wedding in 1997
2. I think the dress was $250
3. Yes at that time $250 was alot of money for me to spend on a dress. The dress was horrible and it ripped at the CH. I want to keep the price of the dress around $150 and I want to keep in simple so they can wear it again if they like.

1. once in my brothers wedding 9/21/01
2. $150 maybe
3. Yes. Some designers are crazy with what they r asking for. The dresses I've chosen for my girls are no more $200-250 (hopefully)

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Yes two times...2. $250
3. I definately don't want my BM's to spend alot of money on dresses. I hate when a bride does not take into consideration the expenses she is putting on her girls...between the dress, shoes, makeup, hair and everything else...I won't be a bridezilla like that

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. Have you ever been a bridesmaid? Yes, um I was the perpetual bridesmaid (4 times
), now it's my turn...finally!!!
2. What's the most money you've ever spent on a dress? $250 It may not sound like a lot, but considering I paid the most! The wedding was in Michigan, and the bride mailed me the fabric and pattern and all I had to do was have someone make it for me. Other girls in the wedding lived in MI, IL, and MN and they paid an average of $40!!!!!!
3. Has this affected how much you want your girls to spend? (i.e. - such high priced dresses makes you want to search for lower priced for your girls!) I want them to be comfortable and like the dresses. I am not TOO concerned on the price. I don't want them to break the bank tho.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
I have been a BM once and a MOH once and both times the dress wasnt that expensive to me($150 for the BM and I think it cost $80 for MOH). I've thought about it and I'd really like to not go over $150.

Re: Friday's Question of the Day...
1. have never been a bridesmaid2. n/a
3. I just don't want the girls to spend a lot of money on something they will only wear once. I would hate it if it happened to me. So i'm gonna try to find somethihg I like under $150.
